Instead, they\u2019re forcing Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz\u2019s office to print hard copies and PDF-form documents of pages. Democrats maintained the stonewall even after Gaetz\u2019s office offered to provide the proper equipment to enable the digital file transfer, the Daily Caller has learned.<\/p>\n<p>Gaetz initially <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/29\/matt-gaetz-confronts-fbi-official-hunter-biden-laptop\/\">moved<\/a> to enter the laptop during a March 29 hearing, but committee chairman Jerry Nadler of New York prepared to object to Gaetz\u2019s request. Nadler ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/gaetz-sends-nadler-hard-drive-containing-contents-of-hunter-bidens-laptop\">relented<\/a> after conferring with a committee lawyer. However, staffers he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/2\/4301\">appointed<\/a> are refusing to facilitate a file transfer.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Moments ago, I successfully entered the hard drive of Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop into the Congressional Record.<\/p>\n<p>SUBPOENA HUNTER BIDEN! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/M800vm2pTY\">pic.twitter.com\/M800vm2pTY<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Rep. Matt Gaetz (@RepMattGaetz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMattGaetz\/status\/1508845184246849539?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 29, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Instead, the staffers demanded that Gaetz\u2019s staff provide printed or PDF form documents of pages that could then be uploaded into the record, a Republican staffer with knowledge of the situation told the Daily Caller. The move forced Gaetz\u2019s office to expend its own resources creating copies, even though House rules dictate that committee staff is responsible for uploading record entries.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic staffers justified the request by claiming that the House Judiciary Committee did not have the technology to digitally enter the laptop in its entirety into the record, the Daily Caller learned. Although Gaetz\u2019s office offered to provide a computer to majority staff to upload the documents, Democratic staffers declined, the Republican staffer said. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/11\/02\/hunter-biden-laptop-rudy-giuliani\/\"><strong>(RELATED: Here\u2019s What We\u2019ve Found Digging Through Hunter Biden\u2019s Alleged Laptop)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDemocrats in the majority used multiple excuses to avoid handling the Hunter Biden laptop in any fashion other than accepting the hard drive via hand delivery,\u201d the Republican staffer, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive committee business, told the Daily Caller.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDemocrats and majority staff are actively obstructing the American people from being able to see the laptop in the public record. They have all the resources they need to enter Hunter\u2019s laptop into the record \u2014 they\u2019re purposefully delaying the process. It\u2019s their responsibility as majority staff to enter materials into the record granted by unanimous consent like Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop. The American people should be asking, \u2018Why aren\u2019t Democrat majority staff doing their jobs?\u2019 and \u2018What will happen if they continue to obstruct official business of Congress?&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee did not respond to multiple requests for comment from the Daily Caller for this story.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin have highlighted various aspects of Hunter Biden\u2019s business dealings in floor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?519295-17\/senators-grassley-johnson-hunter-biden&#038;event=519295&#038;playEvent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">speeches<\/a>, including his time on the board of Burisma Energy and business dealings with various Chinese state-owned entities. The two senators reportedly received copies of the laptop from Jack Maxey, the former co-host of Steve Bannon\u2019s War Room podcast. (Photo by Bruce Bennett\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/30\/hunter-biden-china-laptop\/\">The Washington Post<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/03\/16\/us\/politics\/hunter-biden-tax-bill-investigation.html\">The New York Times<\/a> noted the authenticity of Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop in March 2022, more than a year after the Daily Caller News Foundation first <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/29\/cybersecurity-expert-authenticates-hunter-biden-burisma-email\/\">verified<\/a> it. Recent reporting by the Daily Caller and other outlets has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/13\/hunter-biden-pushed-chinese-natural-gas-sale-laptop\/\">highlighted<\/a> the Biden family\u2019s extensive dealings with Chinese companies, including a presentation Hunter Biden gave promoting American shale and natural gas to Chinese businessmen. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/27\/hunter-biden-patrick-ho-cefc-fara\/\">(RELATED: Feds Obtained FISA Warrant Against Hunter Biden\u2019s Chinese Business Associate, Documents Show)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Joe Biden was \u201cplainly familiar\u201d with Hunter\u2019s and his brother James Biden\u2019s business dealings with CEFC China Energy, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/22\/tony-bobulinski-hunter-biden-joe-biden-china-business-dealings\/\">according<\/a> to Hunter and James Biden\u2019s business partner Tony Bobulinski. Joe Biden even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-brown-university-hunter-chinese-business-partner-emails\">wrote<\/a> a college recommendation for the son of Jonathan <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bhrpe.com\/show.php?catid=34&#038;id=72\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Li<\/a>, the now-CEO of equity firm BHR Partners.
