The lockdown has only \u201cpoured gasoline on [the] fire\u201d of the existing drug overdose crisis, resulting in the skyrocketing of drug overdose deaths to over\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/pressroom\/nchs_press_releases\/2021\/20211117.htm\">100,000 last year<\/a>, said Kheriaty.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC8358101\/#b0130\">August 2021 study<\/a> published on Pub Med found that \u201cstate lockdown policies precede greater mental health symptoms,\u201d and that many \u201cnon-heavy drinkers\u201d turned to alcohol during lockdowns as a coping mechanism for \u201canxiety and depressive symptoms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The results may warn against \u201cgreater addiction following the pandemic warranting further investigation into utilization of substance use treatment,\u201d the study reported.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, one insurance company has reported a 40 percent rise in death rates during the third quarter of 2021 compared to pre-pandemic rates, which is the highest rate the company has ever seen.<\/p>\n<p>J. Scott Davison, CEO of insurance company OneAmerica, said <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/5AOHrZHG5L0?t=1424\">during a news conference<\/a>\u00a0in December 2021 that the deaths of working-age people between 18 and 64 years of age are on the rise, and are being consistently seen in all insurance companies offering life insurance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust to give you an idea of how bad that is, a one-in-200-year catastrophe would be a 10 percent increase over pre-pandemic,\u201d Davison said during a\u00a0health care conference organized by the\u00a0Indiana Chamber of Commerce in December 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Given that 2021 was the year a \u201cmass vaccination campaign\u201d was implemented and that the 18\u201364 year age group has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/1191568\/reported-deaths-from-covid-by-age-us\/\">relatively low COVID-19 mortality rates<\/a>\u00a0compared with the over 65 age group, Kheriaty said that \u201cwe ought to be very concerned\u201d and dig deeper into whether the deaths were the \u201ceffects of the lockdowns that were emerging the following year,\u201d or whether the deaths were due to \u201cvaccine adverse events that may have gone unreported or under-reported,\u201d or a combination of those factors and others that require further investigating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a very pressing question that public health authorities need to contend with,\u201d Kheriaty said.<\/p>\n<p>Since Feb. 1, 2021, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/nvss\/vsrr\/covid19\/excess_deaths.htm\">CDC<\/a> has reported 1,109,851 cases of excess deaths nationwide from all causes. The number of excess deaths excluding COVID-19 related deaths is 220,902; due to other respiratory diseases, circulatory diseases, or other causes such as diabetes, kidney disease, or cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstimated numbers of deaths due to these other causes of death could represent misclassified COVID-19 deaths, or potentially could be indirectly related to COVID-19 (e.g., deaths from other causes occurring in the context of health care shortages or overburdened health care systems),\u201d the CDC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/nchs\/nvss\/vsrr\/covid19\/excess_deaths.htm\">stated<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the majority of deaths where COVID-19 is reported on the death certificate, COVID-19 is selected as the underlying cause of death,\u201d the CDC added on its website.<\/p>\n<p>However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/02\/20\/health\/covid-cdc-data.html\">New York Times<\/a> had recently reported that the CDC still had not published large amounts of the data they collected during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>In comments to The New York Times, a CDC spokesperson said the data were \u201cnot yet ready for prime time,\u201d that the information may be misinterpreted to mean the vaccines are ineffective, and that the data they have is based on 10 percent of the U.S. population, which the Times pointed out is the same sample size used to track influenza each year.<\/p>\n<p>Kheriaty pointed out that there appears to be a \u201cconflict of interest\u201d within the CDC, whereby \u201crather than releasing the data that American taxpayers have paid for and obviously have the right to see, and independent researchers have the right to scrutinize, they\u2019re keeping that information from the public, because they think it may be harmful to some of the recommendations that they\u2019ve made.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that there should be a stronger \u201cfirewall\u201d between the scientific and political department of an organization such as the CDC to allow for more transparency, otherwise \u201cyou end up in a situation in which you have the control of information and basically, giving people only the information that you want them to hear in order to do what you want them to do,\u201d which is essentially propaganda characteristic of \u201ctotalitarian regimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first step in allowing the \u201cseparation of legislative, judicial and executive powers\u201d to resume normalcy, is to put a stop to the state of emergency declared at the start of the pandemic, Kheriaty stated, adding that Americans need to \u201cdemand and take back\u201d their \u201cright of informed consent and the right of informed refusal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The state of emergency declaration enables the CDC and other health agencies to take certain actions, including tapping into financial reserves and waiving some requirements from the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. In a pandemic-era bill, Congress also ordered all laboratories that perform or analyze COVID-19 tests to report the results to the federal government until the declaration ends.<\/p>\n<p>In a March 16 email statement to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/cdc-warns-agency-would-lose-access-to-key-data-if-emergency-declaration-ends_4341076.html\">The Epoch Times<\/a>, a CDC spokesperson stated that it has \u201cno general statutory authority to direct what and how public health data are reported. Data authorities related to COVID-19 test results and hospitalizations are available now because of a public health emergency declaration.
