The move was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-can-f-off-reaction-explodes-online-over-musk-bid-to-outright-buy-twitter-take-it-private\">widely criticized<\/a> by the Left, as some progressives warned that his purchase would prove to be a threat to democracy. Folks on the Right, and non-woke individuals including Rogan, welcomed the potential purchase for many different reasons, chief among them the possibility for more free speech on the internet.<\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThat\u2019s why, me included, everyone is so excited that Elon Musk is trying to buy Twitter. We\u2019re like, \u2018Yes! The great one!\u2019\u201d the host explained on Saturday. \u201cHe\u2019s the super-intelligent leader-type character that seems to have great ethics and morals, too.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAnd he seems to be like a guy that if you had a movie character, and the movie character was like this super billionaire who didn\u2019t give a f***, but he was super f****ing smart, and he was really, genuinely working to save humanity. That\u2019s that guy,\u201d he observed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On Saturday, The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitters-poison-pill-plan-to-block-elon-musk-from-buying-the-company-may-not-be-enough-to-stop-him\">reported<\/a> that Twitter has attempted to stop Musk from buying the company by adopting a so-called \u201cpoison pill\u201d defense, yet that may not be enough to stop the richest man in the world from taking over the company. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/twitters-poison-pill-plan-to-block-elon-musk-from-buying-the-company-may-not-be-enough-to-stop-him\">explained<\/a> that a \u201c\u2018poison pill\u2019 effectively allows all shareholders, except those trying to buy out the company, to purchase newly offered shares at a discounted price. Musk would have to purchase the new shares at a higher price, which could end up being too much for him to afford, if he wanted to take over the company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>However, Musk could potentially go in with another buyer, making it harder for the board to reject his offer at a high price.
