The centre-right People\u2019s Party (PP) and the populist party VOX opposed the reform, with VOX senator\u00a0Jacobo Robatto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voxespana.es\/actualidad\/robatto-madres-no-quieren-abortar-sino-sacar-adelante-sus-hijos-dignidad-20220406\">slamming<\/a> the law as \u201cvague\u201d and \u201cgeneric\u201d earlier this month.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cNo mother regrets being one, but she does having an abortion,\u201d Senator Robatto said and added, \u201cWomen do not want to abort, but to raise their children with dignity,\u201d highlighting a report which claimed that eight in ten women with doubts about their pregnancy decided to keep their child after receiving adequate support.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Christians Banned from Holding Prayer Vigils, Peaceful Protests Near UK Abortion Clinic <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vEmGQUbbyQ\">https:\/\/t.co\/vEmGQUbbyQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1314581392349630465?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 9, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The senator also slammed the language used in the law, particularly the use of the term \u201cvoluntary interruption of pregnancy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInterrupting [the pregnancy] would imply that it can be resumed at any time when the circumstances occur.
