However, we are treading water, still on adrenalin,\u201d said\u00a0Robert Wainwright of\u00a0the Burren Community Development regarding the influx, while local volunteers talked of a lack of supplies and Ukrainian translators.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A video of an Irish &#8220;citizen journalist&#8221; questioning a number of South Asian men claiming to be 60-year-old Ukrainian refugees has gone viral, with the footage prompting questions about the people being given asylum in Western Europe <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/OF5fuS0Qwq\">https:\/\/t.co\/OF5fuS0Qwq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1508144570583826433?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 27, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When it comes to the migration crisis, which has erupted as a result of Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine, Ireland has been particularly liberal in its open-borders approach to those looking to enter its territory.<\/p>\n<p>The country\u2019s Prime Minister, Miche\u00e1l Martin, has even gone so far as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/14\/famous-last-words-irelands-open-borders-response-trumps-security-concerns-pm\/\">to say<\/a> that his government\u2019s \u201chumanitarian response\u201d trumped any security concern that may come out of bringing hundreds of thousands of people to the island, despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/31\/refugees-actively-using-open-borders-ireland-to-sneak-into-uk-claim\/\">warnings<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/09\/irish-open-borders-approach-to-ukrainian-refugees-a-security-risk-for-uk-claim\/\">intelligence officials<\/a> in the neighbouring United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>However, it appears in promising to take in around 200,000 refugees \u2014 roughly four per cent of the country\u2019s total population \u2014 the Irish government has bitten off far more than it can chew, with authorities struggling to find housing for migrants in a nation that is already suffering from a crippling housing shortage.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Officials are now desperately fighting to obtain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.ie\/irish-news\/900-holiday-homes-made-available-for-people-fleeing-ukraine-as-half-of-accommodation-offers-fall-through-41558128.html\">emergency<\/a> accommodation for the up to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.ie\/irish-news\/education\/thousands-more-ukrainian-pupils-expected-to-enrol-in-schools-here-after-the-easter-break-41558145.html\">32,000<\/a> migrants expected to be in the country by the end of this week, with the government\u2019s plan of roping in the public to house migrants seemingly falling flat, with at least half of the refugee accommodation offers received by the government falling through.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, some members of the public have begun to express doubt in regards to the exact origin of some of those claiming refuge in Ireland, with one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/27\/youre-very-young-looking-south-asian-men-claiming-to-be-60-years-old-ukrainian-refugees-quizzed-in-ireland\/\">video<\/a> of citizen journalist Philip Dwyer quizzing a number of men who were claiming to be refugees from Ukraine going viral online.<\/p>\n<p>In the footage, the south-asian men claim to originally be from Kashmir, but maintained that they were nevertheless citizens of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>When asked by the journalist why they were not drafted into fighting Russia by the Ukrainian government, the men claimed it was because they were over the age of sixty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re very young looking for your age, if you don\u2019t mind me saying so,\u201d Dwyer noted.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in France, some politicians have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/13\/euro-mp-claims-african-migrants-exploiting-ukraine-war-to-enter-eu\/\">claimed<\/a> that up to a third of people claiming
