And then I saw her on the ground.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>After phoning his mother, who called 911, Elijah received a phone call from dispatcher Jen Moriarty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI have kids of my own, so I channeled my \u2018mom zone\u2019 and talked to him like I\u2019d talk to one of my own kids,\u201d Moriarty <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wesh.com\/article\/kid-rescues-grandmother-seminole\/39719676\">told<\/a> WESH.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>During the call between Moriarty and Alba, Diomede noted she had COPD and emphysema, according to WESH. You know, if it wasn\u2019t for him \u2013 I probably couldn\u2019t have spoke to them because I couldn\u2019t breathe,\u201d she told the SCFD. \u201cSo thank God he was there. I wasn\u2019t babysitting him. He was babysitting me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Moriarty was impressed with Elijah\u2019s ability to stay cool during the emergency.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cVery impressive. It\u2019s difficult. The role they play is absolutely critical behind the scenes,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Moriarty detailed the love she has for her job.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI love what I do. I love coming to work every day, I love answering the phone calls, I like talking to the units over the radios \u2013 I love everything about it,\u201d she said. \u201cI love being able to help people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For his efforts in December, Alba was given an honorary firefighter\u2019s badge. He also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SCFD.1974\/posts\/351063177052152\">received<\/a> Monster Jam tickets from\u00a0<\/span>Bari Musawwir, the driver of the Zombie truck, and tickets from the Orlando Magic.
