Americans have been feeling the change at the grocery store and gas pump, as many say increased prices have\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/12\/bidens-america-most-americans-say-they-have-had-to-cut-back-on-groceries-due-to-high-prices\/\">forced<\/a> them to change their behaviors, even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/01\/survey-one-third-of-americans-say-they-have-had-to-cut-groceries-to-afford-gas\/\">cutting<\/a> back on groceries in order to pay for gas in President Biden\u2019s America. And according to the latest YouGov\/<em>The Economist<\/em> survey, many expect it to only get worse.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>A majority believe inflation will be either worse or the same six months from now. Forty-three percent, specifically, think there will be an even higher rate of inflation, while 24 percent say it will be the same.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">Confidence in inflation decreasing over the next six months is low, as just 14 percent said there will be a lower rate of inflation at that point. Eighteen percent remain unsure.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The American public does not believe inflation will prove transitory. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oEAYHy0W4I\">https:\/\/t.co\/oEAYHy0W4I<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1448023525764304903?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p3\">Opinions are scattered on party lines, as 60 percent of Republicans predict inflation will be worse six months down the road \u2014 a sentiment shared by 49 percent of independents and 26 percent Democrats. However, about a quarter from each group \u2014 26 percent of Democrats, 24 percent of Republicans, and 24 percent of independents \u2014 believe inflation will be the same at that point. Democrats are the most optimistic of all groups, as 25 percent say there will be a lower rate of inflation, compared to six percent of Republicans and ten percent of independents who say the same.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), a routine critic of the Biden administration\u2019s failed policies, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/12\/ron-desantis-price-goods-going-up-significantly-more-8-5-percent-bidens-america\/\"><span>added<\/span><\/a> some perspective to the Labor Department\u2019s figures this week, making it clear that ramifications are even worse than the 8.5 percent figure, because \u201call the things that really matter are going up significantly more than that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cI mean look gasoline up about 50 percent over the last year plus used cars up 35 percent, to be able to get a used car\u201d he said, reemphasizing \u201cstaples that people need to just live a basic life are going up much higher than 8.5 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><em>The survey was taken\u00a0April 9 \u2013 12, 2022, among 1,500 U.S. citizens.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A plurality of Americans expect inflation to worsen over the course of the next six months, a survey from YouGov\/The Economist found.
