Make the statement that we\u2019re not going to government-fund fake news like we\u2019re some sort of third-world country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that they were the worst on that story is very telling,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>On the broader subject of fake news, Alex reiterated arguments laid out in his book <em>Breaking the News\u00a0<\/em>by characterizing the establishment media less as an ideologically motivated cabal and more as a collection of self-interested conglomerates pushing false narratives to protect their bottom lines, such as the benefits of unfettered free trade with China.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIs Disney just Disney or is Disney part of ABC Disney with ABC News,\u201d he said. \u201cABC News has a parent company that has theme parks and resorts in China. So, do you think China, which gives permission for all these theme parks to exist, you think they\u2019re going to be very kind to ABC if ABC is really investigating the origin of the pandemic? Of course not.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Later in the interview, Alex discussed how fact-checking outlets give a virtual pass to more left-leaning outlets while crushing conservative outlets with \u201cFalse\u201d ratings by playing with semantics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s called harassment,\u201d Alex told the hosts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCNN knows a lot about harassment,\u201d Adam interjected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut that\u2019s what they\u2019re here to do!\u201d Alex said. \u201cThey\u2019re here to make our lives difficult. They\u2019re not here to actually bring integrity to the American news landscape. They start with a premise: \u2018Find a way to reveal that Breitbart is wrong \u2026 Find a way to have a brick thrown through your window, so that you waste your time.
