It has nothing to do with the current conflict in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russia\u2019s Defense Ministry said the Moskva had sunk after ammunition on the vessel exploded, causing significant damage and starting a fire, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-61114843\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBC News<\/a>. Ukraine claimed to have struck the vessel with Neptune missiles, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-second Facebook video shows a naval vessel in the distance suddenly exploding. The caption identifies the ship as the Moskva, claiming that the footage \u201cPROVES IT WAS BLOWN UP\u201d and pointing to a missile on the left side of the video that can be seen before impact. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/04\/07\/fact-check-ukraine-social-credit-system-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: No, Ukraine Has Not Created A Social Credit System As Part Of The \u2018Great Reset\u2019)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The footage, however, predates the conflict in Ukraine. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/bestoftv\/2013\/06\/07\/point-vo-norwegian-ship-explosion.cnn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=um3_6NM6II4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SWNS<\/a> published footage of the same explosion in June 2013. The outlets indicated that it showed Norway\u2019s Navy striking one of its own decommissioned ships to test a newly-developed missile.<\/p>\n<p>The test took place off the coast of the Andoy municipality in Norway, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.news.yahoo.com\/norway-missile-test--knm-trondheim-naval-missile-strike-andoy-120815653.html?guccounter=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yahoo News<\/a>. The municipality, located in the northern portion of the country, is an island just off the mainland, as seen on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Andoy,+Norway\/@69.4554956,12.7699329,6.61z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x45dcef8cb7d59329:0x4711ae09614b4e41!8m2!3d69.253191!4d15.5938405\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Maps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Several videos and images have been misattributed to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
