Abby Finkenauer will be allowed to run in the Iowa Democratic Senate primary in June, the state Supreme Court ruled Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The Iowa state Supreme Court unanimously threw out a lower court\u2019s Sunday <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/11\/abby-finkenauer-iowa-removed-ballot-signature-requirement\/\">ruling<\/a> that Finkenauer did not comply with a requirement that candidates gather 100 signatures from supporters in 19 counties. Chuck Grassley, with most polls showing a clear advantage for the incumbent. She served a single term in Congress, <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Election_results,_2020:_Congressional_elections_decided_by_10_percentage_points_or_fewer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">losing<\/a> to Republican Ashley <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/14\/record-number-republican-women-candidates-running-house-seats\/\">Hinson<\/a> by less than three points in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Iowa Supreme Court\u2019s unanimous decision today has affirmed that we are right on the law, and that we will be on the ballot for U.S. Senate. This is a moment for all advocates for democracy \u2013 Democrats, Republicans, and Independents \u2013 to celebrate the enduring strength of our democratic process and a reminder to never take it for granted,\u201d Finkenauer said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Two Republican officials moved to have Finkenauer removed from the Democratic primary ballot after three ballot petition signatures included incorrect dates. However, the state Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iowacourts.gov\/courtcases\/15606\/embed\/SupremeCourtOpinion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ruled<\/a>, \u201cT<span id=\"page18R_mcid2\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">he legislature<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">did<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">not<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">include <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">missing or incorrect dates as one of th<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">e<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">grounds<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">for sustaining an objection to a <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">petition.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/14\/tennessee-residency-requirement-morgan-ortagus-campaign-not-retroactive\/\">(RELATED: Bill Targeting Ex-Trump Official\u2019s House Run Becomes Law.
