He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/playbook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> Politico\u2019s Ryan Lizza that voters are unhappy with the Democrats\u2019 lack of action on key issues such as inflation and health care.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVoters are very much in \u2018What have you done for me lately?\u2019 They always are. And they don\u2019t feel Democrats can get their shit together and get things done,\u201d Anzalone said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo if we\u2019re able to do something \u2014 a skinny BBB or whatever \u2014 on health insurance costs, prescription drug costs, elderly care, childcare, that\u2019s a big deal because it will give Democrats a competitive advantage on what they\u2019re doing for working families. Like, immigration is the twelfth issue that they\u2019re concerned about. It\u2019s always about the economy or inflation or healthcare or schools,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans are pinpointing a July special <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/30\/special-election-texas-gop-hispanic-voters-mayra-flores\/\">election<\/a> in South Texas as a test of their newfound gains among Hispanic voters. Republican Mayra Flores, who will also seek a full term in November, is <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/08\/cook-political-report-texas-democrats-mayra-flores\/\">hoping<\/a> that concerns about immigration and inflation will be decisive in flipping a seat formerly held by Democrat Filemon <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/24\/filemon-vela-leaves-congress-akin-gump-texas\/\">Vela<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/24\/latinos-sabato-crystal-ball-gop\/\"><strong>(RELATED: Are Latinos Really Abandoning Dems? Poll Analysis Gives New Insight)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anzalone also argued that Democrats should push tax increases on wealthier Americans, adding that Democrats are too \u201cscared of their own shadow\u201d to do so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden\u2019s proposal of making those making over $400,000 pay a little bit more taxes and big corporations pay a little bit more taxes so they pay their fair share to make investments in healthcare and education and childcare is really important,\u201d he claimed. \u201cMost Americans are pissed at the fact that they pay their fair share in taxes as middle-class people. They work hard. They want to see the benefits of the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Election forecasters <a href=\"https:\/\/centerforpolitics.org\/crystalball\/articles\/house-republicans-drive-to-35\/\">believe<\/a> that Republicans could pick up as many as 35 seats in the midterms, which would create the party\u2019s largest majority since the Great Depression.
