Ron DeSantis (R), who on Thursday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/14\/florida-enacts-for-unborn-babies\/\">signed<\/a> pro-life legislation\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.myfloridahouse.gov\/Sections\/Bills\/billsdetail.aspx?BillId=76552#:~:text=Reducing%20Fetal%20and%20Infant%20Mortality%3A%20Revises%20purpose%20%26%20requirements%20for%20Comprehensive,from%20performing%20abortion%20if%20gestational\">protecting<\/a> unborn children from abortion at 15 weeks, was flanked by members of the pro-life movement during the press conference, including Terri Kellogg, who shared the story of her daughter, who is an abortion survivor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to tell you a little bit about how my life, my daughter\u2019s life, started when \u2014 Hope is an abortion survivor,\u201d Terri began, as she stood next to her daughter, who has cerebral palsy.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhen she was 10.5 weeks gestation, that\u2019s the first trimester, her birth mother went and had an abortion,\u201d she said, explaining that Hope\u2019s mother \u201cleft that day believing that she had the abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut God had spared her life,\u201d Terri said, explaining that little Hope \u201ccontinued to grow in secret until she was 5.5 months and then she [Hope\u2019s birth mother] felt movement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At that point, however, her birth mother \u201cdecided to choose life\u201d and give her up for adoption. At the time, Hope\u2019s birth mother did not know there were any issues with her baby until she delivered two months early, at 32 weeks.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHope weighed 3 pounds, six ounces,\u201d she said, explaining that Hope had a \u201clarge injury to her forehead back to her right ear from the 10-week failed abortion, where the skull and the scalp had been cut.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it was jagged and her brain was exposed and there was extra skin pushed down on one side,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd that\u2019s when it came to light what had happened at the failed abortion from the instrument that was used. And Hope had many complications when she was born that God brought her through.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was 30 years ago,\u201d Terri said. \u201cShe survived, and then we came into the picture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She described her daughter, whom she adopted when Hope was just 3 months old, as\u00a0 \u201ca fighter\u201d and \u201ca blessing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s been fighting since the 10.5-week abortion, and to even the first month of her life that she was fighting. She has cerebral palsy as a result, and she still has the scar on her head,\u201d Terri said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s a blessing to everybody that knows her. She\u2019s a friend to all. She describes herself that way, and she\u2019s an encourager. She\u2019s a peacemaker. Her life has great value, and we love her and she loves talking,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe would want to be talking right now. It would be off topic,\u201d she said to laughs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I look at her and I see her scar, I\u2019m reminded of how God spared her life. I\u2019m reminded that she survived an abortion when there\u2019s 2,363 babies that don\u2019t survive it daily. And her scar, it gives evidence to what\u2019s done in secret,\u201d Hope\u2019s mother added, expressing gratitude for her daughter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m thankful to her birth mother for choosing life when she was given a second chance, and, I\u2019m thankful\u2013my heart is full\u2013to be here with all of you that have done so much to stand for life and be a voice for those that don\u2019t have a voice,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re glad to be able to share our story too, and thank you for having us,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Florida Gov.
