The position was a leadership role at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to have Vice President Biden here at Annenberg,\u201d Annenberg Dean Delli Carpini said in a statement in 2017, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedp.com\/article\/2017\/02\/joe-biden-penn-professor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to<\/a> The Daily Pennsylvanian. \u201cAlthough he is not scheduled to teach a formal course at this time, we are certain that there will be opportunities for our students to benefit from his presence at Penn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe will not be teaching classes,\u201d Biden spokesperson Kate Bedingfield also told the outlet in the report.<\/p>\n<p>A later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedp.com\/article\/2017\/02\/what-is-biden-doing-at-penn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a> by the publication entitled \u201cNo one is really sure what Joe Biden will be doing at Penn\u201d revealed it was unclear what Biden\u2019s role would be.<\/p>\n<p>Biden served in the honorary role from February 2017 to April 2019 for just over two years.<\/p>\n<p>It appears Biden did not teach a single ongoing course during this time. He did, however, make at least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedp.com\/article\/2019\/02\/joe-biden-upenn-philadelphia-2020-gutmann-photo-essay\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nine appearances<\/a> on behalf of the university, according to the Daily Pennsylvanian.<\/p>\n<p>An investigative <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/news\/joe-biden-penn-salary-lectures-20190712.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> by the Philadelphia Inquirer revealed that Biden was paid $371,159 in 2017 and $540,484 in 2018 and 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the exaggerated claim, it\u2019s not the first time the president has claimed his role as a professor.<\/p>\n<p>During a video message to the Munich Security Conference in February, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/02\/19\/biden-says-he-was-professor-touting-1m-gig-with-few-visits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stated<\/a>, \u201cTwo years ago, as you pointed out, when I last spoke in Munich, I was a private citizen. I was a professor, not an elected official.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In February 2020, Biden also <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/02\/28\/biden-penn-professor-south-carolina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> that after leaving the White House as vice president, he \u201cbecame a teacher, became a professor.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">So Biden just said &#8220;when I left the United States Senate, I became a professor at the University of Pennsylvania.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s not true. The Daily Wire recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/five-fibs-president-biden-cant-stop-telling\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> on five of them, including the president\u2019s claim that\u00a0he was arrested for protesting for civil rights.<\/p>\n<p>Mentioned on multiple occasions, Biden most recently made the remark during a speech in Georgia as he addressed voting rights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did not walk in the shoes of generations of students who walked these grounds,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2022\/01\/11\/remarks-by-president-biden-on-protecting-the-right-to-vote\/\">he said<\/a>. \u201cBut I walked other grounds. Because I\u2019m so damn old, I was there as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The joke received laughter from his audience, with Biden adding, \u201cYou think I\u2019m kidding, man.
