Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/small-child-rainbow-flag-lgbtq-pride-getty-640x335-1.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">Progressives are defending their in-school manipulation of kids\u2019 sexual development by smearing the worried parents as conspiracy theorists.<\/p>\n<p>The smear helps progressives to keep the large bloc of non-political, non-confrontational parents from recognizing the long-term damage caused by the progressives\u2019 K-12 sexual re-education camps.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The switch-and-smear\u00a0defense is spotlighted by an Associated Press fact check, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/fact-focus-posts-maligning-disney-lack-evidence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted April 13<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The AP article distorted the public\u2019s strong support for Florida\u2019s new law, which seeks to block teachers from pushing pro-transgender and other sexual claims on kids before the fourth grade.<\/p>\n<p>The AP distorted the debate by ignoring mainstream worries about classroom manipulation and instead spotlighting the online, uncoordinated criticism of Disney\u2019s opposition to the child-protection law.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Democrats are rip-roaring mad that Florida is protecting small children from sexual discussions. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0r0hipiCw2\">https:\/\/t.co\/0r0hipiCw2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1501653268417716225?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This spotlight shift from schools to Disney allowed the AP to portray mainstream supporters of the law as conspiracy theorists who are worried about \u201cgrooming\u201d for sex with Disney managers and third-grade teachers:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Online posts are using flawed logic and false information to malign The Walt Disney Co. as sympathetic to pedophiles or predatory toward young children after the company publicly opposed a\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/florida-dont-say-gay-law-signed-56aee61f075a12663f25990c7b31624d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">Florida bill<\/a>\u00a0banning instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade.<\/p>\n[\u2026]\n<p>CLAIM: Disney has close ties to the disgraced financier\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/jeffrey-epstein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>\u00a0and his ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, who was\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/ghislaine-maxwell-convicted-jeffrey-epstein-trial-verdict-63a71a2825eab41184a79e37bb967e90\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">convicted<\/a>\u00a0of luring young girls to be sexually abused by him.<\/p>\n[\u2026]\n<p>CLAIM: Disney\u2019s decision to incorporate LGBTQ themes and characters into its content shows that the company is \u201cgrooming\u201d children to be gay.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>THE FACTS: The term \u201cgrooming\u201d is being used on social media to undermine Disney\u2019s diversity initiatives, a tactic that also has been used at\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/education-gender-identity-adf10ff5f169fae9c9af4d08a7b0c2bc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">school board meetings<\/a>\u00a0across the country by parents who oppose discussions of sexual orientation in schools. But that\u2019s a departure from the commonly understood meaning of grooming, according to experts, who say the term refers to specific tactics that sexual abusers use to initiate contact with their victims.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIncorporating LGBTQ characters into Disney programming also isn\u2019t done to coerce a child into illegal activity. That would be a necessary feature to define someone\u2019s behavior as grooming, according to William O\u2019Donohue, a psychologist who studies child sex abuse at the University of Reno,\u201d the article added.<\/p>\n<p>Despite what AP claims, the political debate is being driven by parents who worry that teachers are eager to manipulate their children\u2019s sexual development for ideological reasons, not for sex.<\/p>\n<p>Those fears are fuelled by teachers who openly declare their wish to manipulate the schoolkids\u2019 understanding of sex:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cDiversity is my favorite thing to teach\u201d says non-binary preschool teacher who also makes 4 year olds pick a pronoun pin every day to wear <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6IRmh4v8Co\">pic.twitter.com\/6IRmh4v8Co<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Libs of Tik Tok (@libsoftiktok) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1514017485367873540?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 12, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Many of these teachers have their own non-sexual reasons for manipulating children, such as a desire to win praise from other progressives:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Letting kids choose their gender identity is now \u201cconsent.\u201d Parents who let kids &#8220;choose their gender&#8221; are child abusers. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vVKcDxXPZC\">pic.twitter.com\/vVKcDxXPZC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Libs of Tik Tok (@libsoftiktok) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1514279747492229120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 13, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Or imposing their own psychological problems on innocent kids:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cParents need to stay the f*** out of classrooms.\u201d This is what the left really thinks. Sometimes the dr is wrong. If they are right, the baby is cisgender\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qYGFm9B7rF\">pic.twitter.com\/qYGFm9B7rF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Libs of Tik Tok (@libsoftiktok) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1513254835075764227?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 10, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The AP\u2019s switch-and-smear tactic likely helps progressives deter non-political parents from joining the growing pushback against sexual manipulation in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>The politics of the groomer vs manipulation view\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/04\/13\/opinion\/transgender-culture-war.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was described<\/a> by Ross Douthat, a centrist op-ed writer in the <em>New York Times.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Douthat sketched the debate over the Florida law as: Progressives view the law as a heavy-handed \u201cDon\u2019t Say Gay\u201d government intrusion into kids\u2019 classrooms, and conservatives see the law as a vital curb on manipulative teachers eager to change the sexual development of children.<\/p>\n<p>That political fight will be won by the faction that wins over the many non-political, non-confrontational parents who like their kids\u2019 teachers and who see K-12 transgenderism as a teenage fad, he wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>To the extent that the law, and other potential laws like it, is understood primarily as moving schools [and teachers] to a\u00a0<em>neutral<\/em>\u00a0position in these [sex] debates \u2014 by keeping [pro-transgender] gender-identity curriculums out of K-3 classrooms and requiring schools to keep parents mostly informed about their teenagers\u2019 self-identification \u2014 it\u2019s likely to be politically popular. And, indeed, in some\u00a0<a class=\"css-1g7m0tk\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/morningconsult.com\/2022\/03\/16\/florida-desantis-dont-say-gay-bill-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recent polling<\/a>, there is majority support for the provisions in the law that seem to aim in this direction.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This swing-vote group may also move towards the conservative side if it fears that the transgender fad may inflict permanent harm on their children:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The moderate position sketched above, the wait-and-see, kids-are-experimenting approach, is plausible to the extent that teenage exploration takes the form of dating both sexes, using a different pronoun or name, changing a wardrobe. But it collapses quickly if the choice is for or against a path of treatment that even advocates concede moves to\u00a0<a class=\"css-1g7m0tk\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1509572326995771396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stages<\/a>\u00a0that are only \u201cpartially reversible,\u201d and then sometimes \u201cnot reversible,\u201d within adolescence itself.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But if the law is viewed as unfairly imposing conservative values, then the middle group of non-political swing voters will lurch towards the loud progressives, Douthat said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The deliberate vagueness of the Florida law and its invitation to lawsuits by offended parents also means that it could end being used to actively roll back gay rights or gay visibility \u2014 whether by pushing gay teachers into the closet or discouraging any discussion of sexual orientation in older grades \u2026 And since there isn\u2019t any sign of a retreat from the\u00a0<a class=\"css-1g7m0tk\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/350486\/record-high-support-same-sex-marriage.aspx&#038;source=gmail-html&#038;ust=1649953066237000&#038;usg=AOvVaw3lZWe_O1G7weJzyRv4dWgP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">widespread acceptance<\/a>\u00a0of gay people and relationships, this would likely turn the middle group against these kinds of laws, and make it easy for the [progressives].<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The switch-and-smear tactic<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/education\/2022\/04\/05\/teachers-groomers-pedophiles-dont-say-gay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> was pushed<\/a> by the <em>Washington Post<\/em> on April 5:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In the charged debate over what and how children should learn about sexual orientation and gender identity, some mainstream Republicans are tagging those who defend such lessons as \u201cgroomers,\u201d claiming that proponents of such teaching want children primed for sexual abuse. The argument draws on previous tactics adopted by the right to oppose the erosion of traditional gender roles at moments of societal transition, experts say. They point out that, while groomer rhetoric seems designed to appeal to fringe partisans, it is part of a conservative effort to foster a moral panic that will help limit how and what educators teach \u2014 by restricting history lessons, banning books, and curbing discussions of systemic racism and LGBTQ issues.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <em>Pos<\/em>t also used a professor to suggest that the parents are manipulated by \u201cwhite-nati0nalist\u201d racists and by religious fundamentalists:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Sophie Bjork-James, an assistant professor at Vanderbilt University who studies evangelical politics and the white-nationalist movement, said the religious right has advanced similar lines of argument in the past. In the 1980s, for instance, when women were entering the workforce in large numbers and placing their children in day-care centers, she said, some Christian conservatives drove what became known as the \u201csatanic panic\u201d \u2014 the false alarm that day cares were sites of satanic ritual and sexual abuse.<\/p>\n[\u2026]\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a strategy to unify the right,\u201d Bjork-James said of groomer rhetoric. \u201cBoth White evangelicals but also the more radical right like QAnon supporters \u2014 for a while that movement was really focused on saving children from purported sexual predators, so it\u2019s a clever strategy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A <em>Washington Post<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/\">report<\/a> on April 14 used a flawed poll to argue that the public protests: \u201cThere are some genuinely angry parents, but the school panic has been planned and promoted by powerful right-wing interests and media outlets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In reality, the pushback against progressive teachers is based on justified fear of pro-transgender curricula and manipulative teachers, not of direct sexual molestation:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">New Jersey teacher goes through examples of the new sex-ed lesson plans for 1st grade. First graders are being taught about gender identity and that it\u2019s okay to identify with the opposite gender. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/c1cqEdcBlQ\">pic.twitter.com\/c1cqEdcBlQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Libs of Tik Tok (@libsoftiktok) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1513222681767735297?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 10, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Breitbart News highlighted New Jersey\u2019s secretly developed curriculum \u2014 and the associated online lessons that start in September:<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Of course, it is also true that some teachers groom the children placed in their care. \u2014 and many of those teachers are quickly caught and jailed amid much applause.<\/p>\n<p>An August 2021 study on 222 convicted school groomers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/354019471_School_Employee_Sexual_Misconduct_Red_Flag_Grooming_Behaviors_by_Perpetrators\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The sexual exploitation of students is a worldwide problem. In the U.S., the problem is three-fold: (1) Ten percent of public school students report being sexually abused by a school employee. (2) There is little in the existing research that identifies and describes the school culture, patterns, and conditions in which educator sexual misconduct occurs. (3) Because no one has systematically documented the school culture and the behaviors and patterns of adults who sexually abuse children in schools, school professionals fail to understand what patterns and behaviors should trigger concern, supervision, investigation, and\/or reporting \u2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>And it is also true that some schools and some teachers around the nation blur the boundary between progressive sexual reeducation and actual sexual grooming:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Students in an <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mcpasd?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@mcpasd<\/a> school were treated to a drag queen performance by a \u201cdrag teacher\u201d during school hours. Imagine if they focused on teaching math, science, and history instead of drag.
