Chip Roy (R-TX) criticized elected Democrats for being unresponsive to the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas Republican lawmaker took issue with Gov. Greg Abbott\u2019s (R-TX) detractors, who are upset about illegal immigrants being bussed to Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>According to Roy, it was the Democrats who were using immigrants \u201cas props.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWell, it\u2019s pretty rich coming from Democrats who\u2019ve been using immigrants as props for their own crass political purposes,\u201d he said. \u201cWhile migrants get abused, get put into the sex trafficking trade, while cartels get empowered, while Texans get run over? That\u2019s Democrats\u2019 whole shtick \u2014 using immigrants as props. Now here, you\u2019ve got Governor Abbott, trying to bring attention to what\u2019s actually been happening in Texas on a regular basis, while Democrats like Senator Murphy and other Democrats ignore it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Governor Abbott is trying to do the job that the president of the United States and Secretary Mayorkas is supposed to be doing,\u201d Roy continued. \u201cAnd so, you know, I\u2019m glad that the governor is bringing attention to it. I\u2019m glad that the governor is bringing attention to what we have to deal with by having the vehicle inspections and causing people to have to wake up to what happens at our border.
