That is nearly double the proportion of millennials who do so, while the gap widens even further when compared with older generations.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Even Gallup\u2019s lower figures still point to a <\/span><i><span>dramatic<\/span><\/i><span> upturn in LGBTQ identification, especially when compared to previous generations:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Gen Z (born 1997-2003): 20.8%\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Millennials (born 1981-1996): 10.5%<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Gen X (born 1965-1980): 4.2%<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Baby boomers (born 1946-1964): 2.6%<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Traditionalists (born before 1946): 0.8%<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>How do we explain this very drastic increase?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It\u2019s not as if baby boomers didn\u2019t ride the wave of the sexual revolution. (Think, \u201cSex, drugs, rock and roll!\u201d) After all, the 1969 Stonewall Riots took place on our watch. (I write as a boomer myself.) Yet only 2.6% of our generation identifies as LGBTQ. How did we get from there to here?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>How did we get to the American Library Association <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ala.org\/advocacy\/libraries-respond-drag-queen-story-hour\"><span>celebrating<\/span><\/a><span> Drag Queen Story Hours for toddlers?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>How did we get to Disney <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/report-disney-helps-employees-and-their-kids-get-mutilating-transgender-surgeries-hormone-blockers\/\"><span>funding<\/span><\/a><span> sex-change surgery for the children of their employees? <\/span><span>(Disclosure: The Daily Wire has announced plans for kids entertainment content.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>How did we get to medical doctors <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/04\/02\/top-doh-doctor-takes-heat-over-birthing-people-tweet\/\"><span>talking<\/span><\/a><span> about \u201cpeople who give birth\u201d rather than \u201cmothers\u201d or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/askdrbrown.org\/library\/menstruating-men-and-latest-examples-transanity\"><span>claiming<\/span><\/a><span> that men can menstruate too?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>How did we get to college classes beginning with each student giving out his or her preferred gender pronouns, including <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/askdrbrown.org\/library\/fee-fi-fo-fum-i-smell-marks-trans-activism\"><span>new<\/span><\/a><span> \u201cpronouns\u201d such as \u201cbun\/bun\/buns\/bunself\u201d or \u201czhe\/zhir\/zhirs\/zhirself\u201d? (The list is almost endless.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>How did we get to headlines like \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thevelvetchronicle.com\/double-mastectomy-at-15-detrans-16-year-old-now-seeks-reversal\/\"><span>Double Mastectomy<\/span><\/a><span> at 15, Detrans 16-Year-Old Now Seeks Reversal\u201d or \u201cThe <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/04\/01\/1090192947\/the-white-house-announces-moves-to-gender-neutral-passports\"><span>White House announces<\/span><\/a><span> moves to gender neutral passports\u201d? (Though posted on April 1, this was <\/span><i><span>not<\/span><\/i><span> an April Fool\u2019s joke.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It\u2019s as if something suddenly shifted in our culture, as if something was in the water or in the air \u2014 because almost out of the blue, our world turned upside down.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Even with a clear and definite strategy and as much ground as LGBTQ+++ activism has been gaining for decades now, if I had told you just 10 years ago that Bruce \u201cCaitlyn\u201d Jenner would be named Woman of the Year by Glamour magazine and that the NCAA would defend the \u201crights\u201d of a biological male competing against biological females in women\u2019s sports, would you have believed me?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>And what do we make of the new phenomenon known as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0202330\"><span>Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria<\/span><\/a><span> (ROGD)? This is an increasingly common, deeply troubling trend in which teenagers, in particular teen girls, suddenly begin to identify as transgender. We\u2019re talking about kids who showed no signs of gender confusion all their lives and then, virtually overnight, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/how-do-gender-transitions-impact-children-heres-what-the-science-says\"><span>begin to identify as trans<\/span><\/a><span>. It is heartbreaking to read their parents\u2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.parentsofrogdkids.com\/what-we-do\"><span>stories<\/span><\/a><span> as they agonize over the self-destruction of their kids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>I ask again: How did this happen?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>But I\u2019m not the only one asking this question. Matt Walsh recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2d6azjXMhSA\"><span>documented<\/span><\/a><span> a new internet fad in which young people are diagnosing themselves as suffering with Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) and consequently identifying as gender non-binary. After all, if one of their personalities is male and another female and another bi, they are, by their own diagnosis, non-binary, and they refer to themselves as \u201cthe system.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This is causing real chaos in the lives of these young people, as expressed to me by a concerned mother who sent me Matt\u2019s video. She wrote, \u201cDo you know anything about this??? I\u2019m literally livid. This is how it started with us. Our daughter went on some social media site, convinced herself she was a system with lots of personalities, like 100. And did this exact same thing!!\u201d Now her teen daughter is taking male hormones after identifying as trans and has cut off all communication with her mom. How on earth is this happening to so many young people at the same time?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Author J. K. Rowling recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jk_rowling\/status\/1505670109809070102\"><span>expressed<\/span><\/a><span> her grief after reading tweets like this: \u201cAt 16 I was prescribed testosterone after two \u2018therapy\u2019 visits. They didn\u2019t ask about my bpd or past trauma. I now have PCOS and am awaiting testing to determine if I need a hysterectomy\/have cancer, and I will never be able to afford breast reconstruction. My consent was not informed.\u201d Rowling tweeted in response: \u201cThis breaks my heart. I\u2019ve now spoken to many young women who tell similar stories.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In an interview on Joe Rogan\u2019s podcast while speaking about these very subjects, psychologist Jordan Peterson <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/01\/27\/joe-rogan-guest-jordan-peterson-says-being-trans-is-a-contagion\/\"><span>made reference<\/span><\/a><span> to the concept of \u201csociological contagion,\u201d noting that opening the boundaries of \u201csex categories\u201d would \u201cfatally confuse thousands of young girls.\u201d He also referenced the writings of Henri Ellenberger<\/span><i><span>, <\/span><\/i><span>in particular his 1970 book \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/unearnedwisdom.com\/the-discovery-of-the-unconscious-summary\/\"><span>Discovery of the Unconscious<\/span><\/a><span>.\u201d A new trend takes hold of culture, and suddenly, it\u2019s as if a significant portion of the society has lost its mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This makes me think back to the Cabbage Patch Kids craze of the 1980s, when, out of the blue, our children just <\/span><i><span>had<\/span><\/i><span> to have one of these dolls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>History <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/timeline.com\/cabbage-patch-craze-867ce8d076c\"><span>still cites<\/span><\/a><span> this phenomenon as a craze: \u201cThe doll was in such rabid demand that shoppers camped overnight at toy stores, stormed displays, and mobbed parking lots.\u201d Newsweek described it \u201cas if an army had been turned loose on the nation\u2019s shopping malls, ravaging the ficus trees, sloshing through the fountains, searching for the legendary stockrooms said to be filled with thousands of the dough-faced, chinless, engagingly homely dolls.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>And then, not long after this, our kids tossed the dolls aside. The craze was over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Make no mistake about it. Sociological contagion is very real, and today, with the help of social media, the contagion (whatever it is) has the ability to spread exponentially.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Some parents of ROGD kids <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.parentsofrogdkids.com\/rapidonset-gender-dysphoria\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> this about this particular contagion: \u201cOur children are young, na\u00efve and impressionable, many of them are experiencing emotional or social difficulties. They are strongly influenced by their peers and by the media, who are promoting the transgender lifestyle as popular, desirable and the solution to all of their problems. And they are being misled by authority figures, such as teachers, doctors and counselors, who rush to \u2018affirm\u2019 their chosen gender without ever questioning why.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Or, from a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0202330\"><span>clinical perspective<\/span><\/a><span>, \u201cIn on-line forums, parents have reported that their children seemed to experience a sudden or rapid onset of gender dysphoria, appearing for the first time during puberty or even after its completion. Parents describe that the onset of gender dysphoria seemed to occur in the context of belonging to a peer group where one, multiple, or even all of the friends have become gender dysphoric and transgender-identified during the same timeframe. Parents also report that their children exhibited an increase in social media\/internet use prior to disclosure of a transgender identity. Academics have raised questions about the role of social media in the development of gender dysphoria.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>That\u2019s why <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transgendertrend.com\/current-evidence\/\"><span>numerous countries report<\/span><\/a><span> an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianexaminer.com\/news\/canada-sees-exponential-rise-in-trans-identified-kids-referrals-to-gender-clinics.html\"><span>exponential increase<\/span><\/a><span> in children identifying as trans. They have been infected by this sociological contagion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>What makes this all the more tragic is that some of this strategy was laid out well in advance.
