Andy Beshear\u2019s veto of <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.legislature.ky.gov\/record\/22rs\/sb83.html\">Senate Bill 83<\/a>, which bars males from participating in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/11\/caitlyn-jenner-ncaa-transgender-female-athletes\/\">girls\u2019 sports<\/a> from elementary through secondary education. Beshear <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/07\/andy-beshear-transgender-sports-veto-kentucky\/\">preferred<\/a> a policy allowing males to compete in girls\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/13\/gender-sexuality-classroom-florida-desantis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sports<\/a> if they underwent certain medical sex change treatments rather than an outright ban, he explained in his April 7 veto <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.legislature.ky.gov\/record\/22rs\/sb83\/veto.pdf\">letter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The legislature also <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.legislature.ky.gov\/record\/22rs\/hb3.html\">passed<\/a> a new abortion <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.legislature.ky.gov\/recorddocuments\/bill\/22RS\/hb3\/bill.pdf\">bill<\/a> into law over Beshear\u2019s April 8 <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.legislature.ky.gov\/record\/22rs\/hb3\/veto.pdf\">veto<\/a>, banning abortions after 15 weeks and imposing new requirements on practitioners such as reporting fetal deaths occurring after 20 weeks and disposing of their bodies as human remains rather than medical waste.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The woke movement is alive &#038; well in the KY Governor\u2019s mansion after today\u2019s vetoes of SB83 &#038; SB1. The law makes exceptions for medical emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>Beshear <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.legislature.ky.gov\/record\/22rs\/hb3\/veto.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">vetoed<\/a> the abortion legislation because it does not make exceptions for rape or incest and may violate the Constitution, he explained in his veto letter. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/13\/yelp-abortion-women-equality\/\">(RELATED: Yelp Exec: Abortion Access Is \u2018Fundamental\u2019 To Women\u2019s Success In The Workplace)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court is currently considering Mississippi\u2019s 15-week abortion ban in Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health, a case that directly challenges Roe v. Wade.
