A statement from the actress blamed her departure on \u201cfamily matters,\u201d but sources revealed to The Sun that at least one reason for her leaving is a huge fight she had with Channing Tatum over Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The latest \u201cMagic Mike\u201d installment was 11 days into filming when the alleged incident occurred. Sources didn\u2019t indicate which sides of the argument Newton and Tatum took, but said their fight escalated to become \u201castonishing\u201d and \u201cunimaginably vicious.\u201d It ended with Tatum getting into a car and driving away from the set.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cChanning Tatum is the producer and number one on set. Thandiwe Newton is the number two star. But 11 days into shooting and it\u2019s all over,\u201d the source told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tv\/18257986\/thandiwe-newton-channing-tatum-oscars-slap-row\/\"><span>The Sun<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThey fell out over the debacle at The Oscars. I was on set. I watched her and watched him. They were in and out of the house where we were filming having this confrontation,\u201d the insider continued.\u00a0<\/span><span>\u201cIt was a tense exchange of words, but suddenly it escalated. Channing got into this car and he disappeared.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The insider also mentioned that Newton was acting like a \u201cdiva\u201d before that fight. <\/span><span>\u201cAfter the row he just went, \u2018I am not working with her anymore.\u2019 Him being a producer, it\u2019s his movie, so she\u2019s off the movie,\u201d the source said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Director Steven Soderbergh tried to help the two actors reconcile, but was unsuccessful. \u201cHe was trying to calm things down but he\u2019s a very quiet man,\u201d the crew member explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Now Newton\u2019s leading role has been recast. According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/magic-mike-3-thandiwe-newton-salma-hayek-channing-tatum-1235232114\/\"><span>Variety<\/span><\/a><span>, the part will now be played by Salma Hayek.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>A spokesperson for the movie studio denied the allegations, saying Newton did in fact leave for personal reasons. \u201cThandiwe Newton has made the difficult decision to step away from the production of Warner Bros. Pictures\u2019 Magic Mike\u2019s Last Dance to deal with family matters,\u201d the statement read, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/04\/14\/thandie-newton-fired-after-fight-with-channing-tatum-on-magic-mike-movie\/\"><span>Page Six<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This isn\u2019t the first shocking moment for the new \u201cMagic Mike\u201d film. The Sun reported that there\u2019s been increased security on the British set due to crowds of women trying to harass the actors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt starts as a bit of fun and it\u2019s great that the fans are so engaged. They\u2019re just passionate \u2014 and plainly sex-starved! But after a while it has become problematic and there are now a lot of fans trying to get hold of the guys pretty much everywhere they go,\u201d a source told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/tvandshowbiz\/18176488\/channing-tatum-magic-mike-film-invaded-superfans\/\"><span>The Sun<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThe security team are concerned about what they might be prepared to do just to get their hands on them.
