Ron DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott and Dwyane \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson could give Trump a run for his money in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a short list,\u201d Mulvaney <a title=\"Mulvaney: DeSantis, The Rock, Tim Scott could give Trump a \u2018run for his money\u2019\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/playbook\/2022\/04\/13\/dems-split-over-biden-gas-price-moves-00024917\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> Politico of people who could possibly challenge Trump for the GOP presidential nomination. In addition to Trump and former Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/04\/13\/mike-pence-teases-2024-presidential-run-at-uva\/?utm_medium=SocialFlow&#038;utm_source=NYPTwitter&#038;utm_campaign=SocialFlow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Pence<\/a>,\u00a0former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, Scott and DeSantis have also been floated as potential candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has yet to endorse DeSantis\u2019 re-election bid for Florida governor. He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/07\/post-interview-with-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> The Washington Post earlier in April that DeSantis became the governor because of his endorsement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know Ron was at 3 percent, and the day I endorsed him, he won the race \u2026 Some out of loyalty would have a hard time running,\u201d Trump said, according to The Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>In a Twitter poll conducted by Matt Walsh, the conservative podcast host asked his followers who\u2019d they prefer in the 2024 race. DeSantis received 70% of the vote, in comparison to 29% for Trump. Tim Scott rakes in nearly $7 million in fourth quarter\" href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/591346-sen-tim-scott-rakes-in-nearly-7-million-in-fourth-quarter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">raised<\/a> $37.3 million for the 2022 cycle for his re-election bid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator\u00a0<span class=\"person-popover\" data-nid=\"18645\">Tim Scott<\/span>\u00a0has built an unmatched grassroots network of supporters that will power him to another term in the Senate in 2022,\u201d said Sam Oh, a consultant for Scott\u2019s reelection campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, \u201cThe Rock\u201d has not said whether he will run for president in 2024, but the Hollywood superstar has made <a title=\"Dwayne Johnson Speaks Out on Potential 2024 Presidential Run\" href=\"https:\/\/insidethemagic.net\/2021\/10\/dwayne-johnson-speaks-out-presidential-run-ad1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">waves<\/a> that point to a potential run.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Trump Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney said Wednesday that Gov.
