Kevin Brady (R-TX) warned that looming tax hikes in the Senate were \u201ccreating real problems\u201d in the U.S. economy.<\/p>\n<p>Brady advised that President Joe Biden \u201ctalking about higher taxes nearly every week\u201d was ultimately having an inflationary impact.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p><span id=\"93\">\u201cWhat we didn\u2019t see is anything, any inc<\/span><span id=\"95\">entives, to drive workers back\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"98\">to their jobs,\u201d Brady outlined. \u201cI<\/span><span>n fact, there seems to be\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"99\">almost a denial of that worker\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"102\">shortage. S<\/span><span>econdly, <\/span><span>I think these looming\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"104\">tax hikes that are still out\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"105\">there in the Senate,\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"108\">I think that\u2019s creating real\u00a0<\/span><span>problems as well because from\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"110\">what I hear from our local\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"113\">businesses \u2014 worker shortage still\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"114\">high; inflation, as you noted,\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"116\">has become now the biggest concern. B<\/span><span id=\"117\">ut in my town hall meetings, I\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"120\">did yesterday from small\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"121\">businesses, they\u2019re asking about\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"123\">potential tax hikes. I<\/span><span id=\"124\">n this economy, that ends up in\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"129\">higher prices as well. S<\/span><span>o, I think that\u2019s a worry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Host Joe Kernen said it was a \u201cstretch\u201d to suggest looming tax increases impacted inflation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInflation, not yet,\u201d Brady replied. \u201cWorry on investment from main street businesses, yes, because, again, the president is talking about higher taxes nearly every week. We know where that ultimately lands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe ought to be driving more investment in the U.S., especially along the supply chain,\u201d he added. \u201cNew equipment, new technology, new innovation ought to be what the administration is championing, but they are still stuck on some form of Build Back Better, and even if you look at the trimmed down versions, you\u2019re talking about a trillion and a half dollars of tax hikes on job creators at the worst possible time.
