It\u2019s, like, triggering.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually did not know what 990s were before all of this happened,\u201d Cullors said, appearing to reference a January report from the Washington Examiner that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/blms-millions-go-unaccounted-for-after-leaders-quietly-jump-ship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">exposed<\/a> BLM\u2019s lack of financial transparency which ultimately led <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/02\/california-washington-black-lives-matter-fundraising-donations-transparency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">several states<\/a>, like <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/03\/black-lives-matter-california-washington-finances\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">California<\/a>, to stop the charity from fundraising until it could show what it did with the $60 million raised in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis doesn\u2019t seem safe for us, this 990 structure \u2014 this nonprofit system structure,\u201d Cullors said. \u201cThis is, like, deeply unsafe. This is being literally weaponized against us, against the people we work with.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Cullors: \u201cThis doesn\u2019t seem safe for us, this 990 structure \u2014 this nonprofit system structure. That leads to deep, like, resistance and trauma.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The BLM Global Network Foundation (BLMGNF) spent $6 million of the charity\u2019s money on a massive Southern California <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/05\/black-lives-matter-mansion-southern-california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mansion<\/a> in October 2020, New York Magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/nymag.com\/intelligencer\/2022\/04\/black-lives-matter-6-million-dollar-house.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. Dyane Pascall, the financial manager of an LLC run by Cullors and her spouse, purchased the mansion and transferred ownership to a Delaware-based LLC, preventing public knowledge of the foundation\u2019s ownership, according to the report.
