Rigged elections \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">6\/ Don\u2019t let Yost distract you. He is part of this mess. ECOT. Secret meetings. Rigged elections. Now he\u2019s spreading made up stories about a campaign \u2018rally\u2019 in Columbus that took place on a day I was in Cleveland.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Steve Dettelbach (@SteveDettelbach) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SteveDettelbach\/status\/984087360722948098?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 11, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u201cElectronic Classroom of Tomorrow,\u201d (ECOT) an online public school in Ohio, voted to recover $60 million of alleged overpayments to the school in 2017. Dettelbach went on to allege Yost ignored ECOT\u2019s lack of attendance record, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/sanduskyregister.com\/news\/10739\/dettelbach-says-hell-be-fair-and-independent-ohio-attorney-general\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sandusky Register,<\/a>\u00a0making him unfit to hold the position he ultimately won.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho has ever heard of a school that doesn\u2019t take attendance?\u201d Dettelbach reportedly said, before again claiming people are \u201coften \u2026 right\u201d that the system is rigged.<\/p>\n<p>Dettelbach then <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SteveDettelbach\/status\/1039989754065051650?s=20&#038;t=tfP0r7J0QNKb3v05EYL3ew\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">claimed<\/a> Yost was involved in a 2011 hidden effort with \u201cpartisans to rig Ohio election maps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a 2017 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispatch.com\/story\/opinion\/letters\/2017\/11\/02\/letter-ohio-s-purge-plays\/17283896007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">op-ed<\/a>, Dettelbach accused the state\u2019s voter registration as having \u201cpurged\u201d 1.2 million Ohioans from the voter rolls as the case was being argued in the Supreme Court. Dettelbach said the state was purposely excluding Ohioans from voting because of \u201cpolitics\u201d and called the claim from state officials that the rolls were cleared of voters who either died or moved \u201cdisingenuous.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOhio\u2019s purge is not about properly cleaning up voter rolls, which is allowed,\u201d Dettelbach wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s about whether elected officials can rig the political system to get a partisan edge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/17pdf\/16-980_f2q3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ruled<\/a> in favor of Republicans and ruled removing voters from the rolls did not violate federal law. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/10\/biden-ghost-gun-rules\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden Expected To Release New \u2018Ghost Gun\u2019 Rules Within Days)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe notice in question here warns recipients that unless they take the simple and easy step of mailing back the readdressed, postage prepaid card \u2013 or take the equally easy step of updating their information online \u2013 their names may be removed from the voting rolls if they do not vote during the next four years,\u201d the Supreme Court ruled.<\/p>\n<p>Dettelbach\u2019s persistent claim of \u201crigged\u201d elections was first brought to light by <a href=\"https:\/\/thereload.com\/biden-atf-nominee-repeatedly-claimed-ohio-elections-are-rigged\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Reload<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dettelbach also has a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/11\/biden-atf-nominee-steve-dettelbach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">history<\/a> of supporting <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/11\/tucker-carlson-biden-gun-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gun control<\/a> measures and spent his 2018 unsuccessful attorney general campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/news.wosu.org\/news\/2018-03-02\/attorney-general-candidates-take-different-paths-on-guns-and-school-safety\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">promoting<\/a> firearm restrictions, such as a ban on so-called \u201cassault weapons\u201d and universal background checks.<\/p>\n<p>Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/09\/white-house-withdraw-david-chipman-atf-nominee-gun-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">withdrew<\/a> his nomination of David Chipman to the ATF in September after allegations of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/29\/david-chipman-atf-judiciary-committee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">racist comments<\/a> and bipartisan pushback over his <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/26\/mike-lee-david-chipman-utterly-condescending-attitude-gun-owners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">attitude<\/a> toward gun owners came to light.
