class=\"subheading\">Soaring inflation in the UK has resulted in basic wages \u201cfalling noticeably\u201d in real terms, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ons.gov.uk\/employmentandlabourmarket\/peopleinwork\/employmentandemployeetypes\/bulletins\/averageweeklyearningsingreatbritain\/april2022\">report<\/a> from the ONS, between December and February, average pay including bonuses rose 5.4 per cent, and regular pay \u2014 excluding bonuses \u2014 rose by 4.0 per cent.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, the UK\u2019s official statistician agency noted that as a result of inflation, take-home pay including bonuses rose by 0.4 per cent and regular pay actually fell during the recording period by one per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The director of economic statistics at the ONS, Darren Morgan <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ONS\/status\/1513760587276333057\">said<\/a>: \u201cWhile strong bonuses continue to mitigate the effects of rising prices on people\u2019s total earnings, basic pay is now falling noticeably in real terms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The problems of inflation are likely to be much higher, as it is a lagging indicator, meaning that its impacts are not always noticed immediately in economic data.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Expectations are that inflation in Britain is only expected to grow as well, with the Autumn expected to see the worst of the effects due to an increased demand for energy and rising energy prices.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" price cap \u2014 a socialist system in the UK supposedly intended on keeping energy prices low for middle and lower-class families \u2014 is on pace to hit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/energy-price-cap-could-rise-by-500-more-ministers-are-told-5nzfbqbqb\">\u00a32,400 in October<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The energy price cap, which has seen several smaller UK energy providers be forced to shutter when they could no longer provide energy at the rates locked in by government diktat, was raised to \u00a31,971 this month, compared to\u00a0\u00a31,042 last March.<\/p>\n<p>Ofgem noted that the price cap could be raised much higher than\u00a0\u00a32,400 in the Autumn due to uncertainty in the global energy market.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>A government source <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10709135\/Alarming-prediction-huge-yearly-bills-families-Ukraine-war-drags-on.html\">told<\/a> the <i>Daily Mail:\u00a0<\/i>\u201cWe are only two months into the six-month forecast period, but the initial indications we have had are that the price cap will rise again in October.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe central projection is for another 20 per cent rise to around \u00a32,400, but it could be anywhere between \u00a31,500 and \u00a35,000, depending on the extent to which the war affects gas supplies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the government has announced some measures to mitigate the impacts of rising costs, such as a \u00a3200 energy rebate for October\u2019s energy bills \u2014 which is still required to be paid back later \u2014 the government has refused to cut the taxes levied on energy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/14\/ripoff-britain-farage-says-green-subsidies-prop-up-wealthy-landowners\/\">25 per
