Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2022\/04\/10\/elon-musk-decided-not-join-twitters-board-directors\/\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Tech billionaire Elon Musk has reportedly decided not to join Twitter\u2019s board of directors after becoming the company\u2019s largest shareholder. An odd statement released by the company\u2019s free speech-hating CEO Parag Agrawal says that the board seat was \u201ccontingent on a background check.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Sunday night, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal said Elon Musk made the decision to rescind the company\u2019s invite for him to join the board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElon Musk has decided not to join our board,\u201d said Agrawal while posting a message he had shared with the company.<\/p>\n<p>According to Agrawal, Twitter\u2019s board and Musk had \u201cmany discussions\u201d about his future in the company before ultimately deciding against the board seat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were excited to collaborate and clear about the risks,\u201d said Agrawal. \u201cWe also believed that having Elon as a fiduciary of the company where he, like all board members, has to act in the best interests of the company and all our shareholders, was the best forward. The board offered him a seat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though Elon\u2019s election to the board was to become official on April 9, Agrawal said that Musk decided to go in a different direction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe this is for the best,\u201d said Agrawal. \u201cWe have and will always have input from our shareholders whether they are on our Board or not. Elon is our biggest shareholder and we will remain open to his input.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Now, staff at the company are reportedly \u201csuper stressed\u201d over the ongoing situation according to Bloomberg. Once a month, Twitter employees get an extra day off called a \u201cday of rest,\u201d but many found it hard to distract themselves from work over fears of what Musk may do as the company\u2019s largest shareholder.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_8150321\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1l7fc0_san-francisco-headquarters-twitter-on-thursday-reported-its-quarterly-e1519238332695.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-8150321\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1l7fc0_san-francisco-headquarters-twitter-on-thursday-reported-its-quarterly-e1519238332695.jpg\" alt=\"AFP\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">(AFP)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bloomberg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-04-11\/twitter-staff-super-stressed-over-musk-board-chaos-on-day-off\">reports<\/a>\u00a0that workers have said the overall vibe among workers is \u201csuper stressed\u201d with employees \u201cworking together to help each other get through the week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Musk recently began tweeting product ideas for Twitter, some of which included turning the San Francisco HQ into a homeless shelter, the introduction of an edit button, and eliminating advertising for customers of Twitter\u2019s subscription service.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>One employee reportedly stated that they were worried that Musk was\u00a0\u201cjust getting started, which is unfortunate,\u201d while others described the situation as a \u201csh*t show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ruchowdh\">Rumman Chowdhury<\/a>,\u00a0a director on Twitter\u2019s AI research team, tweeted: \u201cMusk\u2019s immediate chilling effect was something that bothered me significantly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matt Navarra, a social media consultant, commented on Musk not joining Twitter\u2019s board allowing him to purchase more shares stating:\u00a0\u201cThis decision by Elon does not bode well for Twitter,\u201d as he could continue to buy shares in the company while posting negative things about the platform. \u201cTwitter thought having Trump on the platform was tough.
