In a demonstration with\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/343035347444\">News 4 San Antonio<\/a> on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/graph.facebook.com\/343035347444\/posts\/10160207500277445\/\">Tuesday, April 12, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>The arrest document said the child arrived at the ER on February 1 and explained to doctors that \u201cMiss Amber\u201d shut him in the dryer that already had towels inside.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">The child later told deputies the defendant put him in the machine, closed it, and he \u201cwent round and round,\u201d but when the defendant opened the door, she allegedly shut it once again and the child \u201cwent round and round.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">Child abuse was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/child-abuse\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20370864\">defined<\/a> as intentional harm or mistreatment of a child under the age of 18, the Mayo Clinic\u2019s website read, adding it could take different forms such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, medical abuse, or neglect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">\u201cIn many cases, child abuse is done by someone the child knows and trusts \u2014 often a parent or other relative. If you suspect child abuse, report the abuse to the proper authorities,\u201d the site continued.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said child abuse and neglect can have long-term <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/violenceprevention\/childabuseandneglect\/fastfact.html\">effects<\/a> on a person\u2019s health, opportunity, and well being.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-xb1qmn-0 cHiDYe body-paragraph\">\u201cChild abuse and neglect are common. At least 1 in 7 children have experienced child abuse or neglect in the past year in the United States. This is likely an underestimate because many cases are unreported.
