She exuded confidence, happiness, and a distinctly feminine look that was quite a surprise to many.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>No one could deny Shiloh looked lovely walking the red carpet in her mother\u2019s Dior gown, which Angelina originally wore to the 2019 premiere of \u201cMaleficent: Mistress of Evil.\u201d Shiloh\u2019s changed sense of fashion also sparked conversation as to what may have happened, since the teen had been more interested in exploring traditionally masculine fashion, and had even given herself the name \u201cJohn\u201d at one point. Given all that, it\u2019s a little shocking that Brad and Angelina never declared their daughter was really their son.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>These observations are not without reason. Celebrity parents are often the first to celebrate the news that their children are trans. Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade are a great example of this phenomenon, as they\u2019ve become advocates for their biological son Zaya (formerly Zion), 13, who came out as transgender in 2020. The couple now says Zaya is their daughter. \u201cSex and the City\u201d star Cynthia Nixon also has a trans child, as does Charlize Theron and a handful of others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Shiloh never declared herself trans or took any steps beyond dressing in masculine clothing and cutting her hair short during adolescence. However, based on interviews Brad and Angelina gave and comments they made about their daughter, it almost felt inevitable that the young girl\u2019s life was heading in that direction. Model Amber Rose even mistakenly called Shiloh trans in 2014 and celebrated that she was born into the \u201cperfect\u201d family for identifying that way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Rose shared a photo to her Instagram of Shiloh, then eight, dressed in a suit and tie for the premiere of Angelina\u2019s film, \u201cUnbroken.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHow gorgeous is John Jolie Pitt?! Born into the perfect family for him. #TransKids #LoveurKidsNoMatterWhat#Support,\u201d the caption of the now-deleted post said, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonline.com\/news\/610459\/amber-rose-calls-shiloh-jolie-pitt-john-says-brad-and-angelina-s-child-was-born-into-the-perfect-family-for-him\"><span>E! News<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It\u2019s not unprecedented that Rose believed Shiloh had \u201ctransitioned\u201d into a boy based on what she was wearing, especially considering how mainstream media portrays trans children. Also, Brad and Angelina were not shy about sharing Shiloh\u2019s tendencies to identify with her masculine qualities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While speaking with Oprah in 2008, Brad <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/celebrity\/brad-with-six-kids-life-is-less-mobile\/\"><span>addressed<\/span><\/a><span> his daughter\u2019s desire to be called by a boy\u2019s name.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cShe only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it\u2019s a Peter Pan thing,\u201d he said when Shiloh was just two. \u201cSo we\u2019ve got to call her John. \u2018Shi, do you want\u2026\u2019 \u2018John. I\u2019m John.\u2019 And then I\u2019ll say, \u2018John, would you like some orange juice?\u2019 And she goes, \u2018No!\u2019 So, you know, it\u2019s just that kind of stuff that\u2019s cute to parents and it\u2019s probably really obnoxious to other people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAngie\u2019s militant about it. She\u2019s right on top of it,\u201d he continued. \u201cThank God, because I\u2019m always forgetting something.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Angelina also discussed her daughter\u2019s sense of fashion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cShiloh, we feel has Montenegro style. It\u2019s how people dress there,\u201d Angelina said in a 2010 interview with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2010\/06\/angelina-jolie-on-marriage-kids-and-retirement\"><span>Vanity Fair<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cShe likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. So it\u2019s a suit with a tie and a jacket and slacks, or a tracksuit. She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys\u2019 everything. She thinks she\u2019s one of the brothers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The mom of six said something similar in another 2010 interview. The \u201cGirl, Interrupted\u201d star had a surprisingly refreshing take on kids going through phases and how to handle them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s for the world to interpret anything,\u201d Angelina said in reference to Shiloh. \u201cShe likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called \u2018John\u2019 for a while. Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It\u2019s who she is. It\u2019s been a surprise to us and it\u2019s really interesting, but she\u2019s so much more than that \u2014 she\u2019s funny and sweet and pretty. But she does love a tie . . .\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Then came the big change. In November 2021, following the premiere, an insider <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intouchweekly.com\/posts\/brad-pitt-happy-daughter-shiloh-is-coming-out-of-her-shell\/\"><span>told<\/span><\/a><span> Life &#038; Style that Brad said he was \u201chappy\u201d to see Shiloh \u201ccoming out of her shell.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Again, Shiloh never claimed to be trans,but users on Twitter couldn\u2019t help but notice the huge difference between how she appeared as a child and how, at 15, the celebrity teen is now growing into her femininity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThink of Shiloh Jolie-Pitt: if she had woke parents she\u2019d now be mutilated and forever messed-up by hormones,\u201d one person shared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cShiloh Jolie-Pitt. From dressing like a boy to red carpet glamorous. Let these kids find themselves after they go through puberty naturally,\u201d another agreed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cGood thing Shiloh Jolie-Pitt wasn\u2019t pressured into taking hormone therapy meds when she was \u201cJohn\u201d as \u201ca boy\u201d for a few years as a child\u2026,\u201d someone else on Twitter said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Many adult women now muse over the thought that, in today\u2019s social climate, there\u2019s a chance they could have been labeled as trans by their parents, teachers, or even think it themselves just because they had tomboy tendencies.
