Joe Manchin blamed the Biden administration for record-high inflation Tuesday as the president and his staff continue to claim that it is Russian President Vladimir Putin\u2019s fault.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInflation is a tax and today\u2019s historic inflation data tells another chilling story about how these taxes on Americans are completely out of control,\u201d Manchin said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchin.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/04\/12\/2022\/manchin-statement-on-highest-inflation-in-four-decades\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen will this end? It is a disservice to the American people to act as if inflation is a new phenomenon,\u201d the senator continued. \u201cThe Federal Reserve and the Administration failed to act fast enough, and today\u2019s data is a snapshot in time of the consequences being felt across the country. (Photo by Alex Wong\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe American people deserve the truth about why record inflation is happening and what must be done to control it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Consumer Price Index (CPI) <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/12\/inflation-labor-department-joe-biden-white-house-vladimir-putin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">increased<\/a> 1.2% between February and March, the fastest month-over-month figures since 2005, according to the Labor Department report released Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The White House <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/11\/jen-psaki-extraordinarily-elevated-inflation-putins-price-hike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">warned<\/a> Monday that CPI figures would be \u201cextraordinarily elevated\u201d and blamed Putin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of the actions we\u2019ve taken to address Putin \u2013 the Putin price hike, we are in a better place than we were last month,\u201d White House press secretary Jen Psaki said. \u201cBut we expect March CPI headline inflation to be extraordinarily elevated due to Putin\u2019s price hike.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The administration has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/10\/putin-gas-price-hike-psaki-pins-russia-oil-companies-gas-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blamed<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/12\/media-pundits-echo-bidens-putin-price-hike-inflation-gas-price\/\">rising<\/a> gas prices on Putin despite <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/12\/joe-biden-white-house-gasoline-prices-russia-vladimir-putin-poll\/\">gas prices<\/a> being on the rise prior to Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/10\/biden-blames-putins-price-hike-record-high-inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biden<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/09\/white-house-rebrands-rising-gas-prices-putin-price-hike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> he would do \u201ceverything\u201d he could \u201cto minimize \u2018Putin\u2019s price hike\u2019 here at home\u201d while speaking in March. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/12\/joe-biden-economic-advisor-jesse-lee-senator-rick-scott-vladimir-putin-sympathizer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden Adviser Calls Republican Sen.
