Version: 4.0.47--><div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2022\/04\/CW.jpg?w=1200&#038;h=800&#038;ixlib=react-9.3.0\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Big cuts are reportedly expected to be coming down the pipes for CNN\u2019s new subscription streaming service, CNN+, after the service failed to garner even 10,000 daily users.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFewer than 10,000 people are using CNN+ on a daily basis two weeks into its existence,\u201d CNBC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/04\/12\/cnn-plus-low-viewership-numbers-warner-bros-discovery.html\">reported<\/a>. \u201cTo put that daily user number in perspective, CNN\u2019s cable network suffered a sharp decline in viewership last year but still rang up an average of 773,000 total viewers a day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report noted that there is widespread skepticism over whether there is enough demand to even sustain the service moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/cnn-plus-cuts-warner-brothers-discovery-1be0ac3a-6952-4af0-b8e2-03dd6ae0839c.html\">reported<\/a> that CNN\u2019s investment in CNN+ is expected to be dramatically cut and that projections for how many subscribers that service was expected to get will also be significantly reduced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe news giant was initially planning to invest around $1 billion in the service over the next four years,\u201d Axios reported. \u201cCNN executives, with help from consulting firm McKinsey, originally expected to bring in around 2 million subscribers in the U.S. in the service\u2019s first year and 15-18 million after four years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report said that \u201chundreds of millions of dollars are expected to be cut\u201d from the projected $1 billion investment in the service and that the company\u2019s new leadership team has not yet decided the fate of the struggling service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey originally planned for the service to break even after four years,\u201d the report added. \u201cMuch of the subscriber opportunity executives see comes from international markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ex-WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar, who left the company last week, pushed the launch of CNN+ before CNN merged with Discovery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s ahead of my expectations in terms of where the subscribers are, the engagement, the receptiveness that we\u2019re getting in terms of people\u2019s response to the journalists of CNN+,\u201d he said. \u201cI couldn\u2019t be more proud of that team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CNN+ made a big splash in the news when they announced that they had yanked Chris Wallace away from Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>The move <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/chris-wallace-slammed-after-joining-cnn-joined-a-network-packed-with-sex-pests\">garnered<\/a> some of the following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/chris-wallace-announces-he-is-joining-cnn-social-media-erupts-good-riddance-to-this-fraud\">reactions<\/a> online after it was announced last December:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Gerry Callahan<\/strong>, radio host: \u201cBest news of the weekend! This guy is the absolute worst. Maybe he can slide into the 9 pm slot at CNN and talk endlessly about his two favorite subjects: white supremacy and global warming. Good riddance to this fraud.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jeremy Boreing<\/strong>, Co-CEO, The Daily Wire: \u201cHis performance as a 2020 presidential debate moderator should disqualify him from any position in journalism. CNN really thinks people are going to pay to watch Don Lemon, Brian Stelter and Chris Wallace?\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Steve Deace<\/strong>, The Blaze: \u201cI thought Chris Wallace was a loathsome, biased, hacktastic douche bag long before Donald Trump decided to become a politician.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>John Nolte<\/strong>, Breitbart: \u201cLol, Chris Wallace\u2026 Fox News just dumped the one guy who can\u2019t win his time slot. \u2026 CNN celebrating Chris Wallace joining their sunken ship makes perfect sense. He\u2019s another lying leftist sitting in last place in the ratings.
