You know, years from now, people may not remember me as a champion and that\u2019s fine. But in the moment, you think it\u2019s a lot bigger deal than it really is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scheffler has won four PGA Tour events in only 57 days, \u201cmarking the shortest stretch from a first to fourth victory in PGA Tour history,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/au.sports.yahoo.com\/masters-golf-2022-scottie-scheffler-wins-green-jacket-masters-title-makes-history-233805173.html\">Yahoo Sports<\/a> noted. \u201cHe had already smashed Tiger Woods\u2019 record for shortest number of days (42) to rise to World No.1 after winning his first PGA Tour title.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A reporter asked him, \u201cScottie, how did you handle the late tee time today? What did you do last night? What did you do this morning? And how many episodes of The Office did you watch?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, last night was pretty easy; I was tired, we went and got some food. I spilled my dinner in the car on the way home; that was extraordinarily frustrating,\u201d Scheffler recalled, referencing his wife. \u201cYou can see Meredith is still laughing at me. She thought it was the funniest thing ever; I didn\u2019t think it was so funny at the time. (laughing) And so last night was fine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis morning was a totally different story; I cried like a baby this morning; I was so stressed out,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to do. I was sitting there; I was telling Meredith, I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t think I\u2019m ready for this, you know. I\u2019m not ready. I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m ready for this kind of stuff.\u2019 And I just felt overwhelmed. And so she told me, \u2018Who are you to say that you\u2019re not ready? Who am I to say that I know what\u2019s best for my life?\u2019 And so we talked about that God is in control and the Lord is leading me, and if today\u2019s my time, then it\u2019s my time, and if I shot 82 today, somehow I was going to use it for His glory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGosh, it was a long morning. It was long,\u201d Scheffler laughed.<\/p>\n<p>Asked, \u201cDid you calm down at any point,\u201d Scheffler responded, \u201cI think when \u2014 she made me some more food, I had a big breakfast. My stomach has been hurting for like two days straight. And so I would say I calmed down when I got to the course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A reporter asked why he felt the way he had in the morning. Scheffler replied, \u201cI think because it\u2019s The Masters. I\u2019ve dreamed of having a chance to play in this golf tournament. I teared up the first time I got my invitation in the mail. We were fortunate enough to play here in college. I love this place. I love this golf course. If you\u2019re going to choose a golf tournament to win this would be the tournament I want to win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t know how many chances you\u2019re going to get, and so having a chance \u2014 I think I had a five-shot lead on Friday and then a three-shot lead going into today\u2014 I don\u2019t know if you get better opportunities than that,\u201d he said. \u201cYou don\u2019t want to waste them.
