Serbians nurture resentment over NATO\u2019s 1999 air campaign during the Kosovo conflict, in which the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade was hit,\u201d the Associated Press reported. \u201cNATO called the incident, which sparked violent demonstrations in Beijing, a mistaken bombing, an explanation China and many others have long rejected.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>China\u2019s The Global Times, a Chinese Communist Party-backed news outlet, described the flights to Serbia as possibly being \u201cthe largest overseas operation by the Chinese domestically developed large transport plane yet, displaying the country\u2019s strategic transport capabilities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Serbia has had close relations with both Russia and China and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/index\/country\/serbia\"><span>has<\/span><\/a><span> been closely connected with Russian energy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Several analysts found the transfer of military supplies notable, some of whom worry it might lead to greater conflict in the region.<\/p>\n<p><span>Aleksandar Radic, a military analyst in Serbia, described Saturday\u2019s delivery as a \u201cdemonstration of force\u201d being carried out by China. The Warzone magazine also noted that the \u201cY-20s\u2019 appearance raised eyebrows because they flew en masse as opposed to a series of single-aircraft flights.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Saturday\u2019s delivery appears to be just one more move as China expands its influence around the globe. Just in the past month, China has been working on a security pact with the Solomon Islands which caused concern after a draft of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-proposal-would-allow-china-to-send-troops-to-south-pacific-island-to-keep-social-order\"><span>proposal<\/span><\/a><span> leaked.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AnnaPowles\/status\/1506845794728837120\/photo\/1\"><span>draft<\/span><\/a><span> details that the Solomons can \u201crequest China to send police, armed police, military personnel and other law enforcement and armed forces\u201d to the island for the purpose of \u201cmaintaining social order, protecting people\u2019s lives and property, providing humanitarian assistance\u201d and other agreed-upon needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The talks between the two nations come just months after violent anti-China protests in the Solomons as rioters voiced their opposition to perceived moves by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare to politically and economically tie the islands to China.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, government officials have since clarified that the South Pacific nation will not allow China to construct a military base in the islands.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cGovernment is conscious of the security ramification of hosting a military base, and it will not be careless to allow such initiative to take place under its watch,\u201d a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/04\/01\/1090184438\/solomon-islands-says-china-deal-wont-include-military-base\"><span>statement<\/span><\/a><span> from the government noted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies for breaking news, investigative reporting, sports, podcasts, in-depth analysis, books, and entertainment for a reason: because we believe in what we do.
