[Emphasis added] \u201cSo when babies are born, the doctor looks at them and they make a guess about whether the baby is a boy or girl based on what they look like. Most of the time that guess is 100% correct; there are no issues whatsoever, but sometimes the doctor is wrong; the doctor makes an incorrect guess.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrookeSchool?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BrookeSchool<\/a> 1st grade teacher records an \u201cidentity share\u201d zoom call with K-2 grades where he spoke about being trans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen babies are born the dr looks &#038; makes a guess on whether the baby is a boy or girl. Sometimes the dr is wrong. If they are right, the baby is cisgender\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qYGFm9B7rF\">pic.twitter.com\/qYGFm9B7rF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Libs of Tik Tok (@libsoftiktok) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1513254835075764227?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 10, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWhen a doctor makes a correct guess, that\u2019s when a person is called cisgender,\u201d she continued. \u201cWhen a doctor\u2019s guess is wrong that\u2019s when they are transgender.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I\u2019m a man, but when I was a baby the doctors told my parents I was a girl,\u201d Skyler explained to the young children. \u201cAnd so my parents gave me a name that girls typically have; they bought me clothes that girls typically wear, and until I was eighteen years old everyone thought I was a girl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd this was super, super uncomfortable for me because I knew that wasn\u2019t right,\u201d she said. \u201cSo when I was eighteen I told my family and my friends that I\u2019m really a boy and it was like this huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders and I had the freedom to be who I truly am.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd even though this experience is super-challenging sometimes, it made me the person I am and I\u2019m super-proud to be transgender,\u201d Skyler concluded.<\/p>\n<p>In a Facebook post, Skyler appears to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/raymond.skyer\">written<\/a> about laws, like the one recently passed in Florida, that protect children in kindergarten through third grade from adult sexual content and sexualization, saying, \u201cWhenever there are bills introduced targeting trans youth, we always hear the argument that these laws are \u2018protecting\u2019 their peers and \u2018preventing confusion.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saying she has had \u201cmany conversations with many young children \u2026\u00a0about what being transgender is, and never once have I been met with any fear or confusion.
