Or just not communicate with the family at all because the student might get in trouble for not doing said homework?\u201d the teacher, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told The Daily Wire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI should not be burdened with the extremely sensitive responsibility of rearing impressionable (13 or 14 year old) students and potentially keeping the gender or sexual preference of a student secret from his or her family,\u201d the teacher said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The teacher added that communicating with the student\u2019s family would allow teachers and parents to work together to truly help the student.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWe are being tasked with referring to student by whatever name they\u2019ve created, acknowledging whatever pronoun they choose, and then leaving their parents in the dark,\u201d the teacher said. \u201cIf I\u2019m to be on board, no questions asked, then I at least should be able to speak with the family about it so we could truly help the child with whatever they are going through.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In another change, students in New Jersey public schools will <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/new-jersey-second-graders-learn-gender-identity-alarming-parents\"><span>receive<\/span><\/a><span> lessons on gender identity this fall when new state sex education guidelines go into effect in September.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYou might feel like you\u2019re a boy even if you have body parts that some people might tell you are \u2018girl\u2019 parts,\u201d reads one lesson plan in one district.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>There are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.gov\/education\/doedata\/fact.shtml\"><span>nearly<\/span><\/a><span> 2,500 public schools in New Jersey serving 1.28 million K-12 students. The system has nearly 130,000 teachers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>New Jersey is not the only state that tells teachers to keep secrets from parents when it comes to their children\u2019s gender identity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Washington state has a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/washington-state-tells-teachers-to-hide-student-gender-transitions-from-parents\"><span>similar policy<\/span><\/a><span>, requiring teachers to conceal students\u2019 gender transitions from their parents unless the student explicitly gives the green light for their parents to know.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Teachers must avoid \u201cunintentionally outing the student at home\u201d and should ask transgender students which name, pronouns, and gender designation should be used when communicating with parents, says guidance from Washington\u2019s Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies for breaking news, investigative reporting, sports, podcasts, in-depth analysis, books, and entertainment for a reason: because we believe in what we do.
