Kurt Zindulka, Breitbart News<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The group went on to stage \u201csit down\u201d protests at the Oxford Circus intersection and later on the roads surrounding Trafalgar Square.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Despite causing widespread chaos in Central London on Saturday, the Metropolitan Police have not announced any arrests for the road blockades.<\/p>\n<p>Some 38 members of Extinction Rebellion were <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MetPoliceEvents\/status\/1513226194258468865\">arrested<\/a> the following day, however, after attempting to shut down Vauxhall Bridge.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Build Back Better: From Boris Johnson to Greta and Extinction Rebellion, Britain\u2019s Year of Climate Craziness <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/L4Vn4BAqMi\">https:\/\/t.co\/L4Vn4BAqMi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart London (@BreitbartLondon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartLondon\/status\/1476854199220641831?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 31, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A spokesman for The Met,\u00a0Commander Ade Adelekan\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.met.police.uk\/news\/statement-re-extinction-rebellion-protests-in-london-445877\">said<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cEveryone has the right to protest, and the public understands that protest will often result in a degree of disruption. Kurt Zindulka, Breitbart News<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Extinction Rebellion has previously been accused of attacking the working class, such as when extremists from the group attempted to shut down a subway train in London by climbing on top of it, before being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2019\/10\/17\/watch-climate-protesters-climbing-london-underground-trains-physically-removed-angry-public\/\">dragged away<\/a> by the enraged commuters. The activists were spared jail time for the stunt.<\/p>\n<p>Climate radicals in Britain have increasingly followed Extinction Rebellion\u2019s lead of blocking roads. While XR has mostly confined itself to more prosperous city centres, others, such as Insulate Britan have taken blocking\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/09\/24\/insulate-britain-demands-churchillian-response-expands-protests-and-blocks-major-port\/\">major motorways<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/09\/29\/eco-nutters-shut-down-british-motorway-again-after-promised-govt-crackdown\/\">junctions<\/a>\u00a0throughout the country, resulting in chaos and delays for average workers simply trying to commute to their jobs.<\/p>\n<p>In March, a single mother was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2022\/03\/29\/mum-banned-from-driving-for-nudging-road-blocking-climate-crazies\/\">banned from driving<\/a> by a court over an incident last year in which she attempted to nudge eco radicals out of the road so that she could take her son to school.
