(AP Photo\/Richard Drew)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cElon Musk has decided not to join our board,\u201d said Agrawal while posting a message he had shared with the company.<\/p>\n<p>According to Agrawal, Twitter\u2019s board and Musk had \u201cmany discussions\u201d about his future in the company before ultimately deciding against the board seat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were excited to collaborate and clear about the risks,\u201d said Agrawal. \u201cWe also believed that having Elon as a fiduciary of the company where he, like all board members, has to act in the best interests of the company and all our shareholders, was the best forward. The board offered him a seat.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Though Elon\u2019s election to the board was to become official on April 9, Agrawal said that Musk decided to go in a different direction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe this is for the best,\u201d said Agrawal. \u201cWe have and will always have input from our shareholders whether they are on our Board or not. Elon is our biggest shareholder and we will remain open to his input.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Elon has decided not to join our board.
