That&#8217;s according to a new assessment told to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AP?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@AP<\/a> by sources. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0zUYwImKUl\">https:\/\/t.co\/0zUYwImKUl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Associated Press (@AP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AP\/status\/1512766468722733058?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the report published Saturday, intelligence does not yet suggest that Putin has authorized the same kind of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/intelligence-officials-now-say-democrats-misinterpreted-briefing-on-russian-interference-in-2020-election\/\">election meddling<\/a> that the Russians undertook during the 2016 and 2020 Presidential elections in the United States. However, some are concerned that the Russian dictator\u2019s war in Ukraine \u2014 along with reports that things are not progressing the way he had hoped \u2014 could lead him to move ahead with plans to disrupt elections in retaliation for President Joe Biden\u2019s vocal support and aid to Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The AP cited several anonymous sources who argued that Putin would view any aid from the United States \u2014 even if it were not direct military action by the U.S. and\/or other NATO nations \u2014 as a direct threat and could act accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>From the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/russia-ukraine-putin-2022-midterm-elections-congress-presidential-elections-7d24ef5ab29a74fb26eb1742982da133\">report<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>But given Putin\u2019s antipathy toward the West and his repeated denunciations of Ukraine, officials believe he may see the U.S. backing of Ukraine\u2019s resistance as a direct affront to him, giving him further incentive to target another U.S. election, the people said. It is not yet clear which candidates Russia might try to promote or what methods it might use.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Tensions between Washington and Moscow have reached levels not seen since the end of the Cold War. The White House has increased military support for Ukraine, which has mounted a robust resistance against Russian forces accused of committing war crimes, and helped impose global sanctions that have crippled Russia\u2019s economy.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Some experts did note that because the war in Ukraine is still ongoing \u2014 and because Russian occupation forces have reportedly sustained greater losses than expected \u2014 the Kremlin\u2019s ability to act with the scale and effectiveness it has in the past might be limited simply because necessary assets and resources are being used in other areas.<\/p>\n<p>But according to David Salvo, deputy director of the German Marshall Fund\u2019s Alliance for Securing Democracy, it\u2019s not a matter of\u00a0<em><strong>if<\/strong><\/em> Russia will act \u2014 it\u2019s more a matter of what capacity Russia has to do so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s almost certain that a depleted Russian military after Ukraine is going to again double down on hybrid tactics to wreak havoc against us and other allied countries,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Along those same lines, President Biden warned the American people weeks ago that Russia was likely to launch cyber attacks in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-warns-what-russia-is-getting-ready-to-do-to-the-u-s-fairly-consequential-and-its-coming\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cThe more Putin\u2019s back is against the wall, the greater the severity of the tactics he may employ \u2026 one of the tools he\u2019s most likely to use in my view, in our view, is cyberattacks,\u201d Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/03\/21\/biden-russia-cyberattacks-00018942\">said<\/a> on Monday. \u201cThe magnitude of Russia\u2019s cyber capacity is fairly consequential and it\u2019s coming.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Earlier in the day, Biden released a statement saying that the warnings were \u201cbased on evolving intelligence that the Russian Government is exploring options for potential cyberattacks.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest growing conservative media companies for breaking news, investigative reporting, sports, podcasts, in-depth analysis, books, and entertainment for a reason: because we believe in what we do.
