Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) during an interview for a new book, saying that the far-left lawmaker nearly cost Democrats their majority in the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi\u2019s latest jab at Ocasio-Cortez is featured in the new book, \u201cThis Will Not Pass,\u201d which is slated to be released in early May.<\/p>\n<p>Punchbowl News <a href=\"https:\/\/punchbowl.news\/newsletter\/\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Pelosi privately blames progressives for nearly costing Democrats the House and said AOC and Jayapal were fighting to be \u201cqueen bee\u201d of the left. \u201cIn a few strictly confidential conversations she pointed a finger leftward. Pelosi told one senior lawmaker that Democrats had alienated Asian and Hispanic immigrants with loose talk of socialism. In some of the same communities, the Italian Catholic speaker said, Democrats had not been careful enough about the way they spoke about abortion among new Americans who were devout people of faith.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>[]During the infrastructure vote, Pelosi was angry \u201cand in private she vented about the progressive blockade that had forced her to cancel the infrastructure vote. \u2026 She told another House Democrat that Pramila Jayapal and Ocasio-Cortez were vying to be the \u2018queen bee\u2019 of the left, but that their reward might be serving in the House minority after the next election.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Pelosi also took a shot at Ocasio-Cortez during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pelosi-unloads-on-the-squad-mocks-aoc-in-new-biography\">interviews<\/a> that she gave for a new biography by USA Today Washington bureau chief Susan Page.<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi spoke ten separate times with Page for the book, scheduled for release April 20. During the interviews, Pelosi took shots at several prominent members of her own party including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan. She mocks Ocasio-Cortez specifically for her youth and apparent ignorance, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/pelosi-book-aoc-squad-susan-page-36282731-a49d-4d3d-9373-a2002cc9c4ed.html\">Axios<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Pelosi unloads on the Squad, at one point adopting a child-like voice when discussing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and offers the Squad this blunt advice: \u201cYou\u2019re not a one-person show. This is the Congress of the United States.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Pelosi has repeatedly mocked Ocasio-Cortez and the other three far-left House Democrats, telling The New York Times in 2019: \u201cAll these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world. But they didn\u2019t have any following. They\u2019re four people and that\u2019s how many votes they got.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ocasio-cortez-suggests-pelosi-targeting-her-ryan-saavedra\">mocked<\/a> Ocasio-Cortez in an interview with CBS\u2019 \u201c60 Minutes\u201d in April of 2019, while dismissing the far-left wing of the party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo you are contending with a group in Congress: Over here on the left flank are these self-described socialists, on the right, these moderates,\u201d host Lesley Stahl said. \u201cAnd you yourself said that you\u2019re the only one who can unify everybody.
