Ted Cruz (R-TX) claimed that more Senate Republicans would have voted to confirm\u00a0Ketanji Brown Jackson\u2019s nomination to the Supreme Court than did if her sentencing history had not been brought to light.<\/p>\n<p>Cruz, speaking on the most recent episode of his\u00a0<em>Verdict<\/em> podcast,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/m.youtube.com\/watch?t=1304&#038;v=7qANs3eiYWU&#038;feature=youtu.be\">said<\/a> that besides the three Republican senators \u2014\u00a0Sens. And during the lunches, some Republicans expressed interest in comparing Jackson\u2019s sentences to other judges since \u201cothers depart below the sentencing guidelines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went back and did that research and the chart\u2026 I did in response to questions from fellow Republican senators,\u201d he further explained. \u201cAnd I\u2019m not surprised at the outcomes because I read the transcripts of our sentencing,\u201d acknowledging that \u201cher record was so extreme.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz said he worked to create charts that compared her record with sentencing guidelines in addition to making copies of\u00a0\u201ckey portions of the [sentencing] transcripts\u201d to pass around to other Republican senators.<\/p>\n<p>Breitbart News previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/30\/exclusive-judge-jackson-sentenced-those-in-possession-of-child-porn-to-nearly-60-percent-less-time-than-national-average\/\">obtained<\/a>\u00a0the charts Cruz used during his questioning in the Senate Judiciary Committee, which showed that \u201cJackson sentenced those in possession of child pornography to nearly 60 percent less time than the national average.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The charts that Cruz used also <a href=\"https:\/\/m.youtube.com\/watch?t=1304&#038;v=7qANs3eiYWU&#038;feature=youtu.be\">showed<\/a> that\u00a0\u201ccases of child porn distribution in which Jackson was the presiding judge were sentenced 47 percent less than the national average\u201d and that she also \u201csentenced the production of child porn 35 percent less than the national average.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>Jacob Bliss is a reporter for Breitbart News.
