Times<\/i>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The family now says that the injury has had far-reaching consequences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor three days, we didn\u2019t know if my son was going to live or die,\u201d the boy\u2019s mother, Beatrice Galaz, said. \u201cWe were relieved that he survived, but since that day he has struggled in school. He\u2019s simply not the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Angels have not yet added netting along the foul lines as some teams have.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The lawsuit, which alleges that the team was negligent for not protecting the public as players were warming up, seeks damages, compensation for medical costs, and claims a likely loss of future earnings due to disability they say was caused by the accident.<\/p>\n<p>The family attorney noted that the team should never have allowed players to throw toward the stands and that they should only have been allowed to throw parallel to the foul lines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll they had to do was change their formation,\u201d attorney Kyle Scott said. \u201cIt\u2019s not unforeseeable that somebody is going to miss a ball, and it\u2019s going to be thrown hard enough to hurt somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Similar lawsuits have been ruled in favor of teams maintaining that fans should assume \u201cthe baseball rule\u201d in that balls and bats may fly toward them during games.
