Version: 4.0.47--><p class=\"subheading\">President Joe Biden\u2019s Cuban-born border chief Alejandro Mayorkas is welcoming a massive Cuban migration into the United States, just as Cuba\u2019s communist government is letting pro-democracy protestors leave the island prison.<\/p>\n<p>In March, \u201cmore than 32,000 Cubans were taken into U.S. custody along the Mexico border, double the number who arrived in February, \u201d says a report in the <em>Washington Post<\/em>.\u00a0 The government \u201cis on pace to apprehend more than 155,000 Cubans during the current fiscal year, records show, nearly four times the 2021 total and a twelvefold increase over 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAlmost everyone from the younger generations is leaving \u2026 [it is] a stampede,\u201d Maria Victoria Gonzalez told the <em>Washington Post<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBray Perez, a 19-year-old Cuban university student, is fast losing friends to a growing wave of migration off the island,\u201d Reuters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/americas\/cubans-frantic-migrate-economy-falters-new-hurdles-arise-2022-03-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>\u00a0on March 17. \u201cEvery time I go home, I find that 10 people have left \u2026 It\u2019s hard to get up in the morning and know I\u2019m not going to see them anymore,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The migrants are flying into Nicaragua and then traveling by road through Mexico to the U.S. border, which is being opened to Cuban migrants by border chief Alejandro Mayorkas.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think he has a secret pro-Cuban [government] agenda,\u201d said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies. \u201cBut that\u2019s the actual effect of his policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas used his visit to the United States-Mexico border with Vice President Kamala Harris to tout amnesty for illegal aliens. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mRWXhNrtNw\">https:\/\/t.co\/mRWXhNrtNw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1408982158631444484?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 27, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Mayorkas was born in Cuba, but his parents were invited by Americans to live in the United States in 1960 because Cuba\u2019s communist government stole private property and murdered opponents.<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas still <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SecMayorkas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">identifies as an immigrant<\/a> and is using his job \u2014 he is secretary of the Department of Homeland Security \u2014 to maximize the inflow of poor migrants into Americans\u2019 homeland.<\/p>\n<p>That multinational flood is suppressing Ameicans\u2019 wages, spiking their housing costs, and helping keep millions of Americans out of the workforce.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Under the Title 42 border rules, Mayorkas has full authority to expel the migrants \u2014 even if their dictatorial government refuses to take them back. But, \u201caccording to preliminary data obtained by <em>The Post<\/em>, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has only deported 20 Cubans in the past five months, and just 95 during the 2021 fiscal year,\u201d the <em>Washington Post<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas also has a limited authority to allow Cubans into the United States under a so-called \u201cparole\u201d exemption to normal border rules. The authority was created by the Cold War-era Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966, and it also allows paroled Cubans to get fast-track green cards and then citizenship.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In May, the U.S. Embassy in Cuba will reportedly begin accepting requests <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infobae.com\/en\/2022\/04\/06\/after-five-years-the-us-embassy-in-cuba-will-resume-the-processing-of-migrant-visas-in-may\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">from Cuban parents<\/a> to visit their emigrant children in the United States. Many may hope to stay in the United States to benefit from much better healthcare programs.<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas\u2019s welcome for migrants is \u201cin effect, a dictatorship support program\u201d for Cuba\u2019s dictatorship, said Krikorian.\u00a0\u201cThe communists in Cuba use immigration the way other oppressive regimes sometimes do \u2014 to release some of the built-up steam, built-up discontent \u2026\u00a0as a way to maintain their hold on society,\u201d he told Breitbart News.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas attempts to present the facts of what the Biden Administration views as a \u201cchallenge\u201d along the southern border. For example, \u201cby bringing all of the motivated and educated and resourced people from a very poor country to the United States, that harms that [poor sending] country,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. government policies \u2014 including loose borders \u2014 have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/01\/10\/critics-joe-biden-is-restarting-hunger-games-migration-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extracted<\/a>\u00a0at least 15 million young, hard-working people from Mexico and Central America. Once in the United States, the migrants are used as workers, consumers, and renters. The population transfer hinders economic trade with the United States and makes it more difficult for the migrants\u2019 home countries to grow out of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/01\/10\/critics-joe-biden-is-restarting-hunger-games-migration-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poverty and chaos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe compassionate thing to do is to reduce that flow,\u201d Jenks said.<\/p>\n<p>The emigration also generates cash for Cuba\u2019s communist government once the migrants send U.S. wages back to their families, he said. \u201cIt\u2019s become easier and easier over the years to send remittances from the United States to Cuba, and obviously, the Cuban regime benefits in a variety of ways from that money,\u201d he said, adding that some of the welfare aid from the federal government to Cuban migrants will end up in Cuba.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20579915\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2022\/04\/GettyImages-1236602591.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Sen. (Drew Angerer\/Getty)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Cuba\u2019s autocrats are facing rising protests, according to an April 5 <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/5b5W6#selection-1905.0-1925.401\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a> in the <em>Miami Herald. <\/em>The article was<em>\u00a0<\/em>headlined <em>\u201c<\/em>More than 46,000 Cubans, biggest wave in years, have arrived in the U.S. in five months,\u201d and it said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>With a soaring inflation rate, widespread shortages of basics and little prospects for economic recovery from the impact of the pandemic, Cuba topped the worldwide \u201cmisery index\u201d in 2021, compiled annually by John Hopkins University economist Steve Hanke. After widespread protests last year seeking regime change and improved living conditions, the government made some\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/o\/5b5W6\/https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/nation-world\/world\/americas\/cuba\/article249134595.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow noopener\">minor reforms to the private sector<\/a>\u00a0with little effect on the larger economy, which follows a centralized socialist model.<\/p>\n<p>Cuban authorities also launched an all-out assault on civic liberties, passing decrees and legislation further restricting freedom of expression and other civil rights\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/o\/5b5W6\/https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/nation-world\/world\/americas\/cuba\/article257692688.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow noopener\">while arresting more than 1,400 people, including several minors<\/a>, for participating in the islandwide protests last July 11.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/o\/5b5W6\/https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/nation-world\/world\/americas\/cuba\/article259493239.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"Follow noopener\">Harsh sentences meted out to the protesters<\/a>\u00a0have also sent a chilling message, and many young Cubans are seeking to start a new life elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Cuban economy is in a deep crisis,\u201d said Camilo Condis, a young Cuban entrepreneur who co-hosts the podcast El Enjambre, Spanish for swarm. \u201cAlthough it is true that the COVID-19 pandemic and the [U.S. ] sanctions have negatively affected the economy, the Cuban government has not taken any measures to promote development within the country and continues to bet on a failed centralized economy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But Mayorkas is not specifically trying to help the communist regime that pushed his parents into exile, said Krikorian:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>He is, in fact, helping the Cuban regime, but he\u2019s helping every other regime that wants its discontented population to emigrate.\u00a0I can\u2019t imagine Mayorkas\u2019 actions are in any way targeted toward Cubans \u2014 he\u2019s unwilling to enforce the [U.S.] immigration law against anybody.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Migration advocates welcomed the additional inflows \u2014 and jeered at advocates for reduced migration.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">That should make <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cuba?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cuba<\/a> the number-2 country of origin, after Mexico, of March migrants at the US-Mexico border. Never happened before.<\/p>\n<p>How does the \u201cBiden Border Crisis\u201d crowd respond? Would Rubio, DeSantis, Scott ship them to the regime in Havana? Make them &#8220;remain in Mexico?&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YNMLzbGhTI\">https:\/\/t.co\/YNMLzbGhTI<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Adam Isacson (@adam_wola) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/adam_wola\/status\/1512053675556061190?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <em>Washington Post<\/em> reported that the poor Cubans are borrowing funds to pay the smugglers\u2019 networks in the expectation that they will travel to Nicaragua, then Mexico, then across the U.S.\u00a0border, and into U.S. jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Cubans \u201care smart and they\u2019ve concluded that it\u2019s worth it to borrow the money to get to the United States,\u201d Krikorian said. \u201cWhat that does is benefit smugglers, benefits the communist regime, benefits the migrants themselves \u2014 and the losers are American workers and American taxpayers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since at least 1990, the D.C. establishment has used a wide variety of excuses and explanations \u2014 for example, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/nation-of-immigrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nation of Immigrants<\/a>\u201d \u2014 to justify its policy of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/extraction-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extracting<\/a>\u00a0tens of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2022\/02\/23\/report-u-s-immigrant-population-hits-record-46-6-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">millions<\/a>\u00a0of migrants\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/02\/24\/bidens-border-agency-worries-about-tinder-swindler-amid-migration-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visa workers<\/a>\u00a0from poor countries to serve as workers, consumers, and renters for various U.S. investors and CEOs.<\/p>\n<p>The self-serving\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/12\/20\/washington-post-low-wage-employers-struggle-after-cheap-labor-bubble\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">economic<\/a>\u00a0strategy of extraction migration has\u00a0no\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/11\/20\/gop-donors-economist-immigration-can-offset-foreign-trade-risks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stopping<\/a>\u00a0point. Ro Khanna (D-CA),\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/03\/21\/opinion\/sway-kara-swisher-ro-khanna.html?showTranscript=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">told<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>\u00a0on March 21. \u201cIt will be an extraordinary achievement \u2026 we will ultimately triumph,\u201d he insisted.<\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, the wealth-shifting extraction migration policy is very unpopular, according to a\u00a0\u00a0<a
