Considering the number of prominent Democrats and members of President Joe Biden\u2019s administration who had <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/attorney-general-merrick-garland-tests-positive-for-covid-19-following-meeting-with-fbi-director\/\">tested positive<\/a> for the virus in recent days, Doocy suggested that the situation was comparable.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Doocy asks Psaki if the administration is concerned the event to commemorate Ketanji Brown Jackson&#8217;s confirmation will be a superspreader event like the Amy Coney Barrett one was. Psaki reminds him vaccines were not available back then. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2qLH7HzCql\">pic.twitter.com\/2qLH7HzCql<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/atrupar\/status\/1512142765236363266?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhen the last president wanted to host a big event for a Supreme Court nominee here at the White House, some folks got COVID and then-former Vice President Biden called it a \u2018super-spreader event,\u2019\u201d Doocy said, asking, \u201cSo, is there any risk that this event tomorrow for a Biden Supreme Court \u2014 now, Justice, is gonna be a super-spreader event?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, one, at that point in time, vaccines weren\u2019t available, people\u00a0were not vaccinated. It certainly puts us in a different space. This event\u00a0is also going to be outside\u00a0tomorrow,\u201d Psaki replied.<\/p>\n<p>Doocy also asked about President Joe Biden\u2019s recent contact with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who tested positive for COVID-19 after attending several recent events with the president.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Doocy: &#8220;How can you guys say that President Biden was not a close contact with speaker Pelosi when there&#8217;s video of the speaker kissing him?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Psaki: The CDC&#8217;s &#8220;definition of it is 15 minutes of contact within a set period of time, within six feet. It did not meet that bar.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/T7U8kE5EoR\">pic.twitter.com\/T7U8kE5EoR<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Washington Free Beacon (@FreeBeacon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FreeBeacon\/status\/1512143842665025537?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHow can you guys say that President Biden was not a \u2018close contact\u2019 with Speaker Pelosi when there\u2019s video of the speaker kissing him?\u201d Doocy asked.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki\u2019s response was to explain the technical definition of \u201cclose contact\u201d as stated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and claim that Biden\u2019s contact with Pelosi did not meet that standard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, Peter, the way that it is defined is by the Centers for Disease Control, the CDC, and their\u00a0definition of it is 15 minutes of contact within a set period of time, within six feet. It did not meet that bar,\u201d Psaki said. \u201cIt does not mean that no one will get COVID around the world who does not have a \u2018close contact,\u2019 it just means we are defining for all of you whether the president and their interaction met the definition of the CDC of a \u2018close contact.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pelosi\u2019s deputy chief of staff, Drew Hammill, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-pelosi-tests-positive-for-coronavirus-day-after-attending-event-with-biden\/\">announced<\/a>\u00a0the news via Twitter on Thursday morning, saying, \u201cAfter testing negative this week, Speaker Pelosi received a positive test result for COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic. The Speaker is fully vaccinated and boosted, and is thankful for the robust protection the vaccine has provided.
