Mitt Romney (R-UT), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), voted to confirm Jackson for the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>Romney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/05\/mitt-romney-silent-on-flip-flopping-in-favor-of-ketanji-brown-jackson\/\">failed<\/a> to explain to Breitbart News why he opposed making Ketanji Brown Jackson a federal circuit judge last year and then voiced his support for her to become a Supreme Court Justice this year.<\/p>\n<p>Collins <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/politics\/live-news\/amy-coney-barrett-senate-confirmation-vote\/index.html\">voted<\/a> against confirming a Republican president\u2019s nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, for the Supreme Court, and voted to confirm Jackson as a justice on Thursday.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Senate conservatives raised significant concerns about Jackson\u2019s judicial philosophy and her alleged soft-on-crime record.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/04\/03\/ketanji-brown-jackson-refuses-to-say-whether-individuals-have-natural-rights\/\">refused<\/a> to say if she holds a position on whether individuals have natural rights.<\/p>\n<p>Breitbart News\u2019s Wendell Husebo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/30\/exclusive-judge-jackson-sentenced-those-in-possession-of-child-porn-to-nearly-60-percent-less-time-than-national-average\/\">reported<\/a> that Jackson sentenced those in possession of child pornography to nearly 60 percent less time than the national average. Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO), Ted Cruz (R-TX), and others raised these concerns with Jackson during the confirmation hearings.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson had also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/29\/ketanji-brown-jackson-disagreed-with-expert-witnesss-definition-of-pedophilia\/\">disagreed<\/a> with an expert witness\u2019s definition of pedophilia during a hearing while serving as the vice-chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The then-Supreme Court justice nominee could not\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/23\/im-not-a-biologist-supreme-court-nominee-ketanji-brown-jackson-cannot-define-woman\/\">answer<\/a> a question from Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) about if she could define \u201cwoman,\u201d claiming that she is not a \u201cbiologist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a former Judiciary Committee chairman who voted previously to confirm her as a federal circuit judge, said in a statement after the vote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"wordsection1\">My \u2018no\u2019 vote was based upon Judge Jackson\u2019s record of judicial activism, flawed sentencing methodology regarding child pornography cases, and a belief that she will not be deterred by the plain meaning of the law when it comes to liberal causes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wordsection1\">I found Judge Jackson to be a person of good character, respected by her peers, and someone who has worked hard to achieve her current position. However, her record is overwhelming in its lack of a steady judicial philosophy and a tendency to achieve outcomes in spite of what the law requires or common sense would dictate.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"wordsection1\">\u201cAfter a thorough review of Judge Jackson\u2019s record and information gained at the hearing from an evasive witness, I know why Judge Jackson was the favorite of the radical left,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><i>Sean Moran is a congressional reporter for Breitbart News.
