Some of those concerns included large wire transfers,\u201d Herridge tweeted early Thursday morning along with a link to her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/hunter-biden-republican-probe-business-dealings-james-biden-chuck-grassley\/\">report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">CBS News has learned more than 150 financial transactions involving either Hunter or James Biden&#8217;s global business affairs were flagged as concerning by U.S. banks for further review. Some of those concerns included large wire transfers.  <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zURiLL4zt3\">https:\/\/t.co\/zURiLL4zt3<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Catherine Herridge (@CBS_Herridge) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBS_Herridge\/status\/1512028386968973314?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Herridge reported that critics have largely kept the focus of investigations on President Joe Biden\u2019s embattled son Hunter and his allegedly <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/white-house-stands-by-claim-that-hunter-biden-did-not-profit-off-chinese-business-deals-docs-show-his-companies-made-millions\/\">shady international business dealings<\/a> \u2014 but that further scrutiny has linked the president\u2019s brother, James Biden, to a number of transactions that banks flagged as \u201cconcerning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have people with the Biden name, dealing with Chinese business people that have a relationship to the Communist Party. I think James Biden was very much a part of this,\u201d Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-IA) told Herridge.<\/p>\n<p>From Herridge\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/hunter-biden-republican-probe-business-dealings-james-biden-chuck-grassley\/\">report<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Bank records released by Republican senators this week indicate James Biden\u2019s company, the Lion Hall Group, received payments from a Chinese-financed consulting group in 2018, before his brother Joe announced he was running for president. Grassley says that same year James Biden and the president\u2019s son, Hunter, received monthly retainers totaling $165,000 \u2014 $100,000 to Hunter and $65,000 to James.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Grassley said his team obtained the records directly from the bank where the consulting group did business. He has spent three years investigating and described James and Hunter Biden\u2019s business dealings as \u201cvery concerning.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Grassley has been investigating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/news\/remarks\/grassley-johnson-discuss-investigation-into-biden-family-foreign-financial-entanglements_-part-1\">foreign business dealings<\/a> involving several members of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grassley.senate.gov\/news\/remarks\/the-biden-family-investigation_part-iii-james-biden\">the Biden family<\/a> for several years, and he released a report in 2020 along with fellow Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) alleging that James Biden and his wife Sara Biden \u201ctapped into a line of credit Hunter set up with a Chinese business executive to purchase more than $100,000 in airline tickets, hotels and restaurants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The most recent records released by GOP lawmakers appear to confirm that Hunter Biden and the Chinese executive signed off on a line of credit for $99,000 in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCBS News has also learned more than 150 financial transactions involving either Hunter or James Biden\u2019s global business affairs were flagged as concerning by U.S. banks for further review. Some of those concerns included large wire transfers,\u201d the report continued, clarifying that being flagged for review did not necessarily point to either guilt or innocence. \u201cSuch banking reviews could point to deeper problems \u2014 or they could prove innocuous.
