It was charged in the deaths of eagles at three of its wind farms in Wyoming and New Mexico. The report continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In addition to those deaths, golden and bald eagles were killed at wind farms affiliated with ESI and NextEra since 2012 in eight states, prosecutors said: Wyoming, California, New Mexico, North Dakota, Colorado, Michigan, Arizona and Illinois. The birds are killed when they fly into the blades of wind turbines. Some ESI turbines killed multiple eagles, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n[\u2026]\n<p>The company was warned prior to building the wind farms in New Mexico and Wyoming that they would kill birds, but it proceeded anyway and at times ignored advice from federal wildlife officials about how to minimize the deaths, according to court documents.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to the deaths cited in the case, the company acknowledged the deaths of golden and bald eagles at 50 wind farms affiliated with ESI and NextEra since 2012, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In total eight states saw bird deaths: Wyoming, California, New Mexico, North Dakota, Colorado, Michigan, and Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Illinois was also listed as a source of the deaths as a push continues there for more green energy outlets from more windfarms.<\/p>\n<p><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/p>\n<p>NextEra, based in Juno Beach, Florida, bills itself as the world\u2019s largest utility company by market value, according to AP. It has more than 100 wind farms in the U.S. and Canada and also generates natural gas, nuclear and solar power<\/p>\n<p>Almost all of the eagles killed at the NextEra subsidiary\u2019s facilities were struck by the blades of wind turbines, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Some turbines killed multiple eagles and because the carcasses are not always found, officials said the number killed was likely higher than the 150 birds cited in court documents.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Nearly half of the wind turbines in the state of Texas froze in recent winter weather, hurting state power supplies, authorities said. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0ILqxLxCRd\">https:\/\/t.co\/0ILqxLxCRd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1361508123635310600?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 16, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The\u00a0American Eagle Foundation\u00a0has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eagles.org\/take-action\/wind-turbine-fatalities\/\">shared<\/a> many statistics of how many birds are effected by wind energy.
