There are less than one percent of them,\u201d said Democrat state Representative Krystle Matthews.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Likewise, the LGBTQ activist organization Human Rights Campaign (HRC) condemned the bill passing the South Carolina House.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cAlthough the Bill is titled: \u201cSave Women\u2019s Sports Act,\u201d the South Carolina House has done everything except create an equal footing for women in sports,\u201d the group said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cIf this was about upholding equality for women, why did the House vote down an amendment that would guarantee equal funding of men\u2019s and women\u2019s sports in South Carolina? That\u2019s in addition to rejecting an amendment that would require women\u2019s sports to have the same number of assistant coaches and amenities as men\u2019s teams,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">In early February, South Dakota Gov. Kristi\u00a0Noem\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/south-dakota-gov-kristi-noem-signs-transgender-athlete-ban\/\">signed<\/a>\u00a0a bill\u00a0restricting biological males from competing in women\u2019s sports up through college. Speaking with Fox News, she said the law is about \u201cleveling the playing field.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is true that your girls will have a level playing field,\u201d\u00a0she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/clips\/2022\/02\/04\/noem-transgender-ban-about-leveling-the-playing-field\/\">said<\/a>. \u201cThey will get the chance to compete only against other biological females, as reflected on their birth certificate, because we want them to have a chance to be successful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/sports\/2022\/03\/03\/iowa-gov-kim-reynolds-signs-bill-protecting-girls-sports-from-transgender-athletes\/\">signed<\/a>\u00a0a bill\u00a0that will require athletes to compete on school, college, and university sports teams corresponding to their biological sex, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/30\/arizona-gov-doug-ducey-signs-bills-protecting-womens-sports-unborn-babies\/\">followed<\/a> by Arizona Gov.
