Conservatives aren\u2019t abandoning their <em>principles<\/em> by abandoning needless throat-clearing about <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/robbysoave\/status\/1511367763201298438\">teachers\u2019 alleged good faith<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/njhochman\/status\/1511367148375089154\">the left\u2019s intentions<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>We all know the left\u2019s intentions because they\u2019ve made them perfectly clear. The most recent go-around started with them maliciously branding a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myfloridahouse.gov\/Sections\/Documents\/loaddoc.aspx?FileName=_h1557er.docx&#038;DocumentType=Bill&#038;BillNumber=1557&#038;Session=2022\">bill<\/a> protecting parents\u2019 rights \u2014 which are an absolutely necessity for societal survival \u2014 as a bill that banned mention of the word \u201cgay\u201d in schools. It was a lie; the legislation seeks to keep leftist dogmas about gender identity and sexual orientation away from 5-9-year-old kids. <\/p>\n<p>When the left lost and the bill got signed into law, furious executives at Florida-based Disney began ranting about their quests to inject sexual deviancy into children\u2019s entertainment. <\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/30\/disney-executives-admit-of-course-were-grooming-your-children\/\">video call<\/a> leaked to investigative journalist Christopher Rufo, Disney executive Latoya Raveneau bragged about her \u201cnot-at-all-secret gay agenda\u201d and attempts at \u201cadding queerness\u201d wherever she could in kids\u2019 shows. Another employee talked openly about his attempts to \u201cexplor[e] queer stories\u201d and introduce enough \u201cgender non-conforming characters.\u201d There was more where that came from.<\/p>\n<h2>We\u2019re Old Enough to Remember<\/h2>\n<p>The left\u2019s record on morphing natural sexual mores, however, didn\u2019t start yesterday. So we don\u2019t have to speculate about whether this might be some sort of unfortunate fluke that leaves an otherwise spotless enterprise with egg on its face. <\/p>\n<p>Have the \u201cconservatives\u201d resisting the use of the \u201cgroomer\u201d label forgotten about the concerted effort by gender activists to host drag-queen story hours for little children in taxpayer-funded libraries or <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/04\/05\/seattle-museum-plans-drag-tastic-summer-camp-to-teach-kids-art-of-the-drag\/\">\u201cdrag-tastic\u201d camps<\/a> at museums? Have they not seen the pornographic books <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wokal_distance\/status\/1511507291740155906\">introducing kids to gay sex and masturbation<\/a>? <\/p>\n<p>How about government schoolteachers\u2019 documented <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/08\/30\/ca-teacher-encouraged-students-to-pledge-gay-pride-flag-video\/\">cult-like allegiance to gay pride<\/a>? The <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/10\/21\/when-did-sexual-assault-in-schools-become-a-partisan-issue\/\">cover-up of sexual assault<\/a> resulting from trans bathroom policies? Or the coaxing of children into sex confusion and dangerous gender-bending interventions and then hiding it from their parents? <\/p>\n<p>Have they not heard stories of young people who internalized backward notions about human sexuality during their formative years, were utterly failed by every institution that should have helped them correct course,  then underwent destructive procedures that left them full of regret, just <a href=\"https:\/\/lacroicsz.substack.com\/p\/by-any-other-name?utm_source=url\">disfigured shells of the unique and beautiful people<\/a> they were created to be?<\/p>\n<p>How about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ArOQF4kadHA&#038;ab_channel=Evenstar\">tongue-in-cheek confessions<\/a> from choruses of gay men that they\u2019ll \u201cconvert your children\u201d? Or even <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1509532210495254528?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1509532210495254528%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fthefederalist.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D270306action%3Dedit\">manipulation<\/a> by the president of the United States that those who don\u2019t abide by LGBT orthodoxy \u201cdon\u2019t see\u201d and \u201cdon\u2019t respect\u201d transgender people and that so-called gender affirmation is the best way to keep kids \u201csafe and healthy\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a word for adults who build trust with children then condition them in sexual matters without their parents\u2019 consent or knowledge in order to manipulate them for their own pleasure: It\u2019s groomer.<\/p>\n<h2>Not All Groomers Are Pedophiles <\/h2>\n<p>Of course, the left-wing media, joined by the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/njhochman\/status\/1511361505861713928\">National Reviews<\/a> and Trump-crazed of the world, will call this a \u201csmear\u201d and say that it\u2019s an exaggeration that serves only to minimize the horrific experiences of victims of pedophiles. We\u2019re \u201credefining grooming,\u201d they <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DavidAFrench\/status\/1511382524144062465\">say<\/a>, \u201cand slinging false accusations of sympathy for pedophilia.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>Except we\u2019re not. You don\u2019t have to be a pedophile to be a sexual groomer of children. And the type of child sexualization and exploitation occurring in kindergartens through high schools across the country represents the hallmarks of grooming. It\u2019s all right there. <\/p>\n<p>Below is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/groups\/public_interest\/child_law\/resources\/child_law_practiceonline\/child_law_practice\/vol-34\/november-2015\/understanding-sexual-grooming-in-child-abuse-cases\/\">\u201cgroomer\u201d explainer<\/a> on the American Bar Association website, which also says that \u201csexual grooming key elements\u201d include \u201ctargeting the victim, securing access to and isolating the victim, gaining the victim\u2019s trust, and controlling and concealing the relationship,\u201d all of which happen too easily in school settings.<\/p>\n<p>Check out these grooming behaviors to see if any of them ring a bell:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"698\" height=\"773\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-06-at-11.32.03-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-270307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-06-at-11.32.03-PM.png 698w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Screen-Shot-2022-04-06-at-11.32.03-PM-271x300-1.png 271w\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.childhelp.org\/what-is-child-abuse\/grooming\/\">website<\/a> ChildHelp, which seeks to prevent child abuse, \u201cgrooming includes \u2026 gaining trust and access \u2026 playing a role in the child\u2019s life, isolating the child, [and] creating secrecy around the relationship.\u201d It goes on to say that signs of grooming include \u201cshowing pornography to a child\u201d and \u201ctalking about sexual topics that are not age appropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Joel Barry, the managing editor of The Babylon Bee (which has been censored for truthful statements about sex and gender), put it correctly when he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoelWBerry\/status\/1511676267988500483\">said<\/a>, \u201cMost teachers aren\u2019t themselves pedophiles, but they are working in a pedophilic system designed to make kids more exploitable\u2014both politically and sexually.\u201d He continued: <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>They aren\u2019t grooming kids for a specific pedophile, necessarily. They\u2019re grooming them for a system of pedophilia \u2014 which in the long run will result in horrors we can\u2019t comprehend. Find your courage and stop it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSystem of pedophilia\u201d isn\u2019t conspiratorial; it\u2019s an apt way to describe a depraved culture that preys upon its children \u2014 in the womb, in entertainment, in the classroom, online, during global pandemics, and anywhere else self-serving adults can exploit children to accomplish their political, social, and sexual ends. <\/p>\n<p>The ridiculous \u201cgroomer\u201d tut-tutting is just the latest friendly fire from the dwindling faction of used-to-be-conservatives who care more about getting published in The Atlantic than in defending the rights of parents and their vulnerable children. According to many of them, you\u2019re too sensitive about censorship, not concerned enough about decorum, secretly racist, not a faithful enough Christian, and now too sensitive to child exploitation.<\/p>\n<p>But we know what grooming looks like, and if we\u2019re too afraid to call it what it is, what the hell are we conserving?<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">\n  Kylee Zempel is an assistant editor at The Federalist.
