I appreciate your intellectual honesty, your willingness to risk scrutiny to stand against your own tribe in defense of truth, and the important nuance to which you routinely invite your readers. I shared a cab to the airport with you once about five years ago. It was a major highlight in my life as an aspiring writer.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the years, I\u2019ve enthusiastically shared your articles. I nodded in emphatic agreement when you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/trump-putin-summit-international-diplomacy-words-matter\/?fbclid=IwAR0zbwl-bsr_I3-zXzKYYbNG7D9ExHffBKBGr9iVqDRf0KINyqPRnFjuGb4\">denounced Donald Trump\u2019s appalling rhetoric<\/a>. I gave you a standing ovation in my living room when you told the truth too many wanted to ignore about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2017\/12\/roy-moore-election-conservative-case-against-him\/\">Roy Moore<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>As a rape survivor, I think I may have actually cried when I read <a href=\"https:\/\/frenchpress.thedispatch.com\/p\/metoo-power-disparities-and-why-the?fbclid=IwAR11oJmUiAb7D4uEIz49ZCKiQw3TQ1zO5MuVdPxdkkBpCCdOeyUbKxhcQkw&#038;s=r\">your article<\/a> about how the church at large is failing to adequately address the sexual abuse epidemic. And I wanted to pull my hair out right alongside you when the (completely predictable and preventable) Jan. 6, 2021 disaster struck.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I am in full agreement with you that the church and the political right have been negligent about addressing the rot in our own camp. I agree that we have got to stop demonizing every hint of deviation from the approved party line. In all that, I\u2019m fully on your side.<\/p>\n<p>But this week I read your piece \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/frenchpress.thedispatch.com\/p\/against-the-groomer-smear?s=r\">Against the \u2018Groomer\u2019 Smear,<\/a>\u201d and my heart sank.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Groomer\u2019 Isn\u2019t Just a Smear<\/h2>\n<p>I read every word hoping I could find a way to agree with your perspective, and in some areas, I could. I was tracking with you on some of the things you had to say about Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and the problematic nature of some of the ambiguous text in Florida House Bill 1557. You raised some good points, and I hope people consider them.<\/p>\n<p>But then you got to the part about sexual grooming in today\u2019s public schools. You called the claims of grooming \u201cabsurd.\u201d You mocked the people making them. You spelled out, in vivid detail, the components of true sexual grooming, and you declared, in no uncertain terms, that this is <em>not <\/em>happening through today\u2019s school curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know how else to say this, but, Mr. French, you are wrong. I don\u2019t know if maybe you\u2019re just so frustrated with the right\u2019s unwillingness to contend with the rot in our own house that it\u2019s rendered you unable to consider the possibility that any of our expressed concerns could be rooted in legitimacy, or what. But I can tell you that your choice to use your platform and influence to perpetuate this type of ignorance is devastating to those of us who\u2019ve spent our entire lives defending kids from the specific <a href=\"https:\/\/quillette.com\/2022\/03\/29\/gender-idoelogues-alarming-campaign-to-get-kids-while-theyre-young\/\">types of grooming<\/a> you refuse to acknowledge.<\/p>\n<p>By way of explanation, I spent the first 10 years of my life being groomed by a pedophile. I am intimately familiar with the tactics and methods, all of which are brazenly present in much of today\u2019s curriculum. I\u2019ve also spent the past seven years on the frontlines of the great sexual identity debate, fielding horror story after horror story from <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/03\/19\/when-transgenderism-discards-my-daughter-i-will-still-be-here-for-her\/\">parents<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2022\/feb\/15\/teacher-fired-not-using-students-preferred-pronoun\/\">teachers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecut.com\/2016\/02\/fight-over-trans-kids-got-a-researcher-fired.html\">therapists<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/quillette.com\/2020\/10\/06\/forget-what-gender-activists-tell-you-heres-what-medical-transition-looks-like\/\">poor souls whose lives and bodies have been devastated<\/a> by this insidious ideology. <\/p>\n<h2>Exploiting Kids\u2019 Vulnerability and Sterilizing Them<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ve noticed that you tend to address the trans issue as sort of a fringe thing that\u2019s not really worthy of collective attention. I\u2019m here to plead with you to reconsider. It\u2019s infinitely worse than you seem to realize.<\/p>\n<p>In kindergarten classrooms across the country, teachers are reading books like Michael Hall\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.michaelhallstudio.com\/books\/bk_red.html\">Red<\/a>\u201d to five-year-old students. The book teaches these kids it\u2019s possible to be born in \u201cthe wrong body.\u201d You don\u2019t think this is grooming? <\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t think that telling them this lie and planting this seed of doubt exploits their vulnerability and primes them for future insecurity to be preyed upon by pharmaceutical companies that benefit from their lifelong dependence on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones that will render them permanently sterile?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m going to pause there and repeat this. Permanently sterile. We are <a href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/thebottomlineshow\/brandon-showalter-lupron-how-it-harms-children-who-want-to-be-transgender-january-11th-2019?fbclid=IwAR3kOAGOSByV-m64jARxM3_fIww5Km_x3o-OnpnHN6-PM9JqNUmiHHC7SCk\">chemically castrating children<\/a> before they\u2019re even legally old enough to pierce their ears without parental consent. Shouldn\u2019t the wholesale sterilization of children give you pause? It\u2019s a human rights atrocity. And a sexual crime. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s well and good to rail against the child abuse at Kanakuk Christian Camps. But how can anyone turn a blind eye to what\u2019s happening here in our own backyards? How can you pooh-pooh this or mock the people trying to fight it?<\/p>\n<h2>Manipulating Kids\u2019 Trust Behind Parents\u2019 Backs<\/h2>\n<p>Guess where these kids are getting their referrals (without parental notification, mind you) for these drugs that will sterilize them? They\u2019re getting them largely from school counselors. One of the grooming components you mentioned, Mr. French, was \u201ctrust development and keeping secrets.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Did you know that these counselors foster the trust of these students, often encouraging them to use alternate names? That they keep this information from the parents? That they convince the students they are more trustworthy than their parents? That the official American School Counselor Association has actually published a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schoolcounselor.org\/Standards-Positions\/Position-Statements\/ASCA-Position-Statements\/The-School-Counselor-and-Transgender-Gender-noncon\">guide<\/a> directing counselors to hide information from parents? Are you seeing the grooming yet?<\/p>\n<p>Do you think sexual violation has to happen at the hands of an individual as opposed to a corporation? We\u2019ve got <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2018\/09\/12\/u-s-doctors-performing-double-mastectomies-healthy-13-year-old-girls\/\">13-year-old girls lining up for elective double mastectomies<\/a> because they\u2019ve been groomed to believe their happiness lies on the other side of self-mutilation. Here\u2019s a snapshot of the grotesque medical scandal currently going on in the United States, with no major media scrutiny, in one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plasticsurgery.org\/documents\/News\/Statistics\/2020\/body-contouring-gender-confirmation-2020.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1t9AYtqqx4ig8I1IlJdPIGH6lch6ykVD-Vqoa2L2Sxxx6mY9gYPoeRGmU\">single chart<\/a> from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/breastamputation2020-1024x326-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-270290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/breastamputation2020-1024x326-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/breastamputation2020-300x96.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/breastamputation2020-768x245-1.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/breastamputation2020.jpg 1466w\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>In 2020, even amid global lockdowns, cosmetic gender surgeries continued to rise. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 8,548 breast amputations were completed in 2020 on young women and girls, some of them likely minors, and many of them likely dealing with one or more mental health diagnoses. This constitutes a 15 percent increase from 2019. If you divide 8,548 by 261 (business days in a year) that is 32.7 breast amputations <em>per day<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>In the United Kingdom, the advocacy group TransgenderTrend documented that in approximately a decade referrals of girls to the \u201cGender Identity Development Service\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/committees.parliament.uk\/writtenevidence\/7947\/pdf\/\">skyrocketed<\/a>, seeing a more than 4,000 percent increase. Abigail Shrier documents in her stunning book \u201cIrreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters\u201d that the number of females who underwent \u201cgender surgeries\u201d in the United States from 2016 to 2017 quadrupled. <\/p>\n<p>Yes, you\u2019re reading that correctly. You don\u2019t think the adults who encouraged this have participated in sexual violence against these girls? As a journalist friend put it, American public schools have become a \u201cschool to sterilization pipeline.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve got <a href=\"https:\/\/kmph.com\/news\/local\/mom-scolds-california-school-for-allegedly-coaching-her-12-year-old-into-becoming-trans-spreckles-jessica-konen-transgender-lgbt-equality-clubs-teacher-student-gsa-gay-straight-alliance\">story<\/a> after heartbreaking <a href=\"https:\/\/katv.com\/news\/nation-world\/parents-say-school-secretly-met-with-daughter-over-being-trans-before-her-suicide-attempt-clay-county-florida-child-parental-right-campaign-vernadette-broyles-transgender-gay-lgbtq\">story<\/a> of parents who\u2019ve lost their kids to the gender cult specifically because a school employee encouraged the child to express a secret identity at school without ever telling the child\u2019s parents about it. No grooming here, though?<\/p>\n<p>I personally know a couple who had to move to a different state to save their daughter from the gender cult. They were in danger of losing custody of their daughter for refusing to treat her gender dysphoria with hormones and pronouns. She was groomed into her cognitive dissonance at her local school. Will you tell these desperate parents that they don\u2019t know what they\u2019re talking about? That they\u2019re wrong about the grooming that almost killed their daughter?<\/p>\n<h2>Listen Before Brushing Off People\u2019s Concerns<\/h2>\n<p>You and I can agree that some of the most vocal spokespeople on the right side of this issue say some really cringe-worthy things. We can agree that so much of political rhetoric is destructively hyperbolic and manipulative. But even a broken clock is right twice a day. And when it comes to the grooming inherent in the gender cult\u2019s indoctrination, if anything, the rhetoric is not urgent or demonstrative enough.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m saddened to say that reading your piece made me feel a lot like I did when I was younger trying to get people to care about the abuse I had suffered. I felt like you were telling me I was overreacting, that the justice I cared about pursuing was small beans in the big picture, that I needed to stop being so dramatic and find something more important to care about. <\/p>\n<p>Mr. French, until you\u2019ve sat with these parents, until you\u2019ve worked to find a therapist to treat dysphoria without hormones (which is like trying to find a kidney on the black market, mind you), until you\u2019ve heard a broken young woman tell you about the kids she\u2019ll never have through a voice that will forever sound like a pubescent teenage boy because of the medical interventions the school experts encouraged her to take, until you\u2019ve actually cared enough to hear the stories or examine the curriculum or analyze the trends or investigate the schools, I\u2019m sorry, but you haven\u2019t earned the right to make such certain claims about the grooming.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s infinitely worse than you think.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Kaeley Triller is a truth teller, envelope pusher, grace chaser, and Jesus follower.
