Iranian demand to remove the hardline Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from its foreign terrorist organization list, according to a <\/span><i><span>Foreign Policy<\/span><\/i><span> magazine essay that admits doing so would alienate Middle East allies and that Iran can not be trusted to follow up on its promises.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/foreignpolicy.com\/2022\/04\/05\/iran-nuclear-deal-revolutionary-guards-irgc-terrorist-list\/\"><span>piece<\/span><\/a><span> published on Tuesday, <\/span><i><span>Foreign Policy<\/span><\/i><span> columnist Anchal Vohra claimed the time has come \u201cto give the Revolutionary Guards a concession,\u201d calling a revival of the Iranian nuclear deal \u201cmore important than the symbolism of a terrorist list.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>Vohra, who is also a freelance TV correspondent and commentator on the Middle East based in Beirut, warned that time was running out.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cTime is of the essence from the West\u2019s perspective: In less than a month, Iran could possess uranium capable of making a nuclear bomb,\u201d she wrote. \u201cBut sensing its advantage, Iran has been engaging in last-minute haggling.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Iran has indicated it will not budge until the United States removes the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from the Foreign Terrorist Organization list, but delisting the organization isn\u2019t an attractive choice, FP columnist <a class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>Noting there is \u201cplenty of reason to be irritated\u201d by Iran\u2019s demand of the U.S. to remove the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from the State Department\u2019s Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) list \u2014 including what will be viewed as \u201cthe biggest insult of all\u201d to Washington\u2019s traditional allies in the Middle East, Vohra still expresses support for conceding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Though delisting the organization \u201cisn\u2019t an attractive choice for any American president,\u201d Vohra states, \u201cdealing with Iran has never been about pleasant choices,\u201d while suggesting the benefits of a restored nuclear deal \u201coutweigh the costs of delisting the IRGC.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Despite reports claiming Iran has \u201cassured it would make a commitment to de-escalate in the region in return for the IRGC\u2019s removal as a terrorist entity,\u201d the author admits \u201cthere is no certainty it would follow up on that promise.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Though the IRGC has been \u201cempowered by the Ayatollahs to be used against moderate political and market forces in Iran to maintain their hegemony,\u201d Vohra maintains their removal from the FTO list is merely a question of prestige and honor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In January, Vohra <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/foreignpolicy.com\/2022\/01\/11\/syria-sanctions-america-biden-europe-economy\/\"><span>described<\/span><\/a><span> America\u2019s Syria sanctions as essentially pointless.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p><span>Many took to Twitter to criticize the Tuesday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/clips\/2022\/04\/06\/blinken-irans-revolutionary-guard-is-a-terrorist-group-wont-get-into-details-of-if-they-still-will-be-under-iran-deal\/\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> the Revolutionary Guards is a terrorist organization, but responded to a question on whether they\u2019ll remain one under a revival of the Iran nuclear deal by saying that he didn\u2019t want to get into the details of talks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Then-U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s administration designated the IRGC a terrorist organization in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Iran, the largest state sponsor of terrorism worldwide, claims its nuclear program is for energy purposes, but world leaders, including the six nations that joined the 2015 deal to limit Iran\u2019s nuclear weapons capacity, say enriching uranium may lead to Iran\u2019s ability to quickly create a nuclear weapon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Obama-led nuclear deal \u2014 deemed fatally flawed and highly one-sided by many, and from which then-President Donald Trump withdrew in 2018 \u2014 delineates an enrichment limit of 3.67 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Iran has been accused of violating the agreement as Tehran produces more enriched uranium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Nevertheless, current nuclear talks in Vienna may see the United States and other world powers provide Iran with economic sanctions relief in exchange for temporary restrictions on its nuclear program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to a former State Department official, President Biden\u2019s impending agreement to restore the Iran nuclear deal <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/08\/report-bidens-iran-deal-gives-regime-access-to-90-billion-7-billion-for-ransom-sanctions-relief-to-terrorists\/\"><span>offers<\/span><\/a><span> the regime access to $90 billion in foreign currency reserves and sanctions relief to some of the world\u2019s worst terrorists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In addition to being granted hundreds of billions of dollars it will likely use for terror and aggression, the deal also will not prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weapons.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last month, Russia\u2019s envoy to the Iran nuclear talks <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/middle-east\/2022\/03\/06\/russian-envoy-on-nuke-deal-iran-got-much-more-than-expected\/\"><span>admitted<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0Tehran
