Arizona, 20 years I lived there, and I\u2019ve seen what open border policies can do to the country and to the people who are trying to get into this country.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Co-host Sunny Hostin said, \u201cWhat do you mean by open borders?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grisham said, \u201cPeople who are \u00a0\u2014well, like this. if they lift this, people are going to go from 7,000 people getting into the country every day to 18,000.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hostin said, \u201cYou say you\u2019ve seen open border policies. What do you mean by that?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Grisham said, \u201cI mean by letting people just come in and not enforcing and sending them back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cI\u2019ve seen the human trafficking that is done. There are people called coyotes. They bring women and children across the border and leave them in the desert and do unspeakable things to them, and so to go from 7,000 to 18,000 people daily crossing into our border illegally, I don\u2019t know how we would pay for it. I don\u2019t know where we would put them, and it puts a lot of those people in danger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hostin said, \u201cThere are laws in place, everyone. OK. Under U.S. law, a refugee is a person who is unable to or unwilling to return to his home country because of various reasons. In this country, once you enter the country, you have a right, a legal right because of our Constitution, because of the strength of our laws to ask for asylum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked, \u201cDoes it matter how they come in?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hostin said, \u201cNo, it does not. No, it does not. When you say they\u2019re coming in illegally, I take umbrage to that, especially because 14,000 Haitians were expelled under the Biden administration. Especially because 76,000 Afghans were welcomed, which they should have been. And because this administration is willing to take over 100,000 Ukrainians.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Grisham said, \u201cWhich I agree with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hostin said, \u201cSo it seems to me that the law is okay for some people, but not okay for people that look like me. I don\u2019t like that.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Grisham said, \u201cI don\u2019t agree with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Co-host Joy Behar asked, \u2018Why is it okay for 100,000 Ukrainians to come in and not these other people running from oppression and death?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grisham added, \u201cThere are bad people who are also coming in this country. China, knowing our borders are opening, will now have fentanyl come across the borders like crazy and 100,000 people a day \u2014 \u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Behar said, \u201cWhy does this sound like Fox News?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hostin said, \u201cIt does.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grisham said, \u201cBecause I\u2019m a Republican, and I\u2019m sorry about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Behar shot back, \u201cAre you spewing like talking points here? What are your numbers?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grisham said, \u201cI lived in Arizona. I saw these things.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Behar said, \u201cHow much could you see?
