While speaking to reporters, the Laker legend criticized current Lakers star, LeBron James, by saying that some of James\u2019 antics are \u201cbeneath him.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cSome of the things he\u2019s done and said are really beneath him, as far as I can see,\u201d Abdul-Jabbar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/sports\/2022\/04\/04\/kareem-abdul-jabbar-says-lebron-james-should-be-embarrassed-by-his-actions\/\">said<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cSome of the great things that he\u2019s done, he\u2019s standing on both sides of the fence almost, you know?<\/p>\n<p>Abdul-Jabbar added,\u00a0\u201cIt makes it hard for me to accept that when he\u2019s committed himself to a different take on everything. It\u2019s hard to figure out where he\u2019s standing. You\u2019ve got to check him out every time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, not long after making those comments, Kareem went on SiriusXM NBA Radio to <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/kareem-abdul-jabbar-apologizes-lebron-170020688.html?msclkid=5c4a37dbb5ed11ec8cf449b23e0b9002\">apologize<\/a> to LeBron.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAll I have to say is this: I was there to give\u00a0<a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nba\/players\/3706\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:Carmelo Anthony\" data-rapid_p=\"34\" data-v9y=\"1\">Carmelo Anthony<\/a>\u00a0the NBA Social Justice Champion Award,\u201d Abdul-Jabber explained. \u201cI\u2019ve been talking to the press since high school, that\u2019s 60 years of making statements. And I haven\u2019t always gotten it right. And Sunday was one of those nights,\u201d Abdul-Jabbar said. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t my intention to criticize LeBron in any way. He has done so much for the Black community as well as for the game of basketball. We may not always agree, but I want to wholeheartedly apologize to LeBron and make it clear to him that I have tremendous respect for him. And if he can accept that, I\u2019ll be very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today a reporter asked me a question about Lebron James and I regret my off-handed response which has been blown out of proportion. For years I\u2019ve expressed my deep admiration and respect for LeBron as a community leader and athlete.
