Abortion is healthcare. I\u2019ve been very clear on my position on that throughout my time in the legislature,\u201d Hobbs responded. \u201cSo, if I\u2019m elected governor, that\u2019s what folks are getting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will work with the legislature that\u2019s in place to ensure that women have continued access to reproductive healthcare,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>When the host pressed Hobbs to answer whether she could draw the line on legalizing abortion at 15 weeks or 24 weeks, Hobbs deflected, calling abortion a \u201cpersonal decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbortion is a personal decision between a woman and her family and her doctor. And that\u2019s something that needs to be discussed in the medical exam room, not by politicians,\u201d she responded. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/04\/04\/colorado-governor-signs-bill-legalizing-abortion-birth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>(RELATED:\u00a0Colorado Governor Signs Bill Legalizing Abortion Up Until Birth)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>Hobbs has been consistent in her pro-abortion stance, including voting against a 2012 bill, <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.azleg.gov\/BillStatus\/BillOverview?billnumber=HB2036&#038;Sessionid=107\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Mother\u2019s Health and Safety Act<\/a>, which prohibited abortions after 20 weeks. She also voted against the 2011 bill <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azleg.gov\/legtext\/50leg\/1r\/bills\/hb2443s.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HB 2443<\/a>, banning abortions based on the sex or race of the infant.<\/p>\n<p>While Hobbs was in the state Senate, she continued to vote against pro-life legislation. During the 2017 legislative session, she voted against <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.azleg.gov\/BillStatus\/BillOverview\/69196\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SB 1367<\/a>, requiring\u00a0abortion providers to give medical care to infants who survived the abortion process and were born alive.<\/p>\n<p>Hobbs said that giving medical care to an infant who survived an attempted abortion was \u201ccruel\u201d and argued that resuscitation \u201ccan actually harm the infant,\u201d according to a 2017 AZ Central <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/story\/news\/politics\/legislature\/2017\/02\/22\/arizona-senate-approves-birth-bill-goes-beyond-abortion\/98274190\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey signed SB 1164 into law on Mar. 30, making it illegal to perform an abortion after the infant reaches 15 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Center for Arizona Policy President Cathi Herrod <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2022\/02\/15\/arizona-senate-passes-bill-to-ban-abortions-after-15-weeks-saving-hundreds-of-babies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told<\/a> LifeNews that this bill would give protection to babies who need it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreborn babies at 15 weeks gestation have fully formed noses, eyelids, and lips, as well as developing hearts, kidneys, and other organs. They suck their thumbs, and they feel pain.
